I think the reason for "Playstation vs. X-Box" wasn't because Nintendo was forgotten at all, it's that they're largely a standalone console that people get independent of the other two, because it has actual exclusives.

Actually it’s because Nintendo was in a bit of a dark era with the Wii U considering how big a failure it was during the generation of home consoles this trilogy of episodes was written in.

Honestly I agree with this. Nintendo always felt like the standalone thing that people could get without breaking their brand loyalty to Sony or Microsoft, especially if you had it as a handheld console. To me, it always felt like it was Playstation and Xbox that had the rivalry since they performed similarly and Nintendo had a butt load of exclusives and gimmicks that Sony and Microsoft couldn't really get away with

Funny you mention how this trilogy got you into Game of Thrones. When I first started watching South Park (which, ironically, was around the same time the trilogy came out) and I saw this for the first time, I immediately asked my mother if she had heard of GoT. Not even one second later she says to me “You’re not watching that show.” While I get her reasoning (especially now that I’ve actually seen GoT), keep in mind I was fifteen at the time and watching fucking *South Park.*

Unironically my Walmart manager was hyper traumatized by Black Friday because his best friend got trampled to death after falling off a ladder during Black Friday. He banned all ladders from the store that day and had these really serious talks about how to avoid falling in crowds. Later one of the people I worked with went to that Astro world concert and they said our managers advice helped them not get crushed in the crowd. So it’s like…small world. Dude probably saved more lives than he knew

A few places in America have been doing that these past few years, as well as having deals online! Honestly, i think the days of super chaotic Black Friday sales where people line up on Thanksgiving just to be first in the store are mostly gone. Most stores don’t even open obscenely early anymore (not that I’m complaining, I work retail and quite like more laid back Black Fridays 😂)

Kitty probably isn’t old enough to remember the Tickle-me Elmo insanity that happened back in ‘96. It is also a reference to the allegations of sexual impropriety with minors that has dogged the actor. Olenna Tyrell is played by the wonderful actress Diana Rigg. She is well known as the Emma Peel from the British spy-series The Avengers ( it has nothing to do with Marvel). As a James Bond fan, she holds the distinction being the only woman to get 007 to the altar( the marriage to Kissy in You Only Twice is only a cover.) If you get a chance to watch The Avengers series you should watch it.

The whole trilogy was something. South Park has always been a comedy, and this trilogy is full of jokes. So many this hit in this one that years from the original airing this one is put on my watch and my friends watch this because of the build up. This is some of the boys and background characters best and most messed up. I never watched the Game of Thrones show at all, but my friends have so they were into that, but I still got the story and was still into the boys play out the show. This one is so good because it is focused on the boy and gaming, so no politics or only fictional ones. I love the stuff with Randy and the other adults in the other side of the story. I believe we all felt the same as the kids after they watched the fight with Bill Gates and the Sony CEO. I feel and see the boy on all sides. I even see Eric doing the back stabbing and getting it himself. Eric getting Stan grounded is more childish and I love it. I defend him doing this better than what he could have do to Stan. This was truly the good South Park and why the game was based on the tale of the boys fighting and playing.

Kyle and Cartman are usually on the same sides when the boys split up for example in the coon and friends trilogy when the boys split up, Kyle stays on the Coon and Friends side instead of going to the Freedom Pals with Stan and Kenny. This stays until the game where both sides combine. The only time they are on different sides is in the Stick of Truth game where they are pit against eachother until they also combine

I actually can say why the Wii U wasn’t mentioned as it didn’t do well market wise and lacked a lot of games. This is due to poor marketing as people assumed the Wii U was an extension of the wii. The lack of games due to Nintendo pushing developers to use the console software while lacking a lot of headline games. So sale wise it flopped and people forgot about it.

I just rewatched the Black Friday Trilogy and believe it is the very best of all of South Park! There is drama, betrayal, sausages, criticism of GoT, more sausages, the hilarious garden scenes, a sausage song, Princess Kenny, even the channel 9 subplot is amazing, and the Black Friday bloodbath and the console wars are portraying some of the worst outcomes of Capitalism. And in the end they even announced the South Park video game. South Park had lots of great storylines, but the Black Friday trilogy is really the funniest of them all.

I've seen some people say the reason the Wii U is never mentioned is a joke itself. That the Wii U is so outdated and sold so poorly that it doesn't exist. 9:07 That's so cool you brought up the Wii U right there. I actually got it on launch day and was the first person in my hometown to get it at Target. I thought that was a cool feat but it definitely was not because not that many people actually bought the Wii U which I think is the reason why the writers didn't bring up the console in the first place, not to mention it came out in 2012 so the hype would be for the new consoles at the time which were the Xbox One and the PS4 that came out in 2013. Now that you mention it though, Tolkien should have been in no camp because he's from a rich family and he would just be like "PC master race!" Because she would get the most up-to-date gaming PC that just blows way past even the PS4 and since he's rich it might even be more powerful than the PS5 that came out so many years later😂

I remember back when I was young and was super neutral to this trilogy whenever it came on, considering I never watched Game of Thrones, anime, played Xbox or PlayStation since I grew up on the Wii, and didn’t know who George R R Martin was. The entire trilogy just felt like a huge joke that I wasn’t getting but could still be mildly entertained by. I’ve had time to watch and do all of those things, so now it’s a lot of fun to rewatch this trilogy in hindsight of how confused I used to be.

The 4 main boys' sides on the console wars have been shown in past episodes. Cartman: Kyle threatened to break his XBOX. Kenny: Got addicted to the PSP. Kyle: Was saving money for an XBOX game, but gave it to a homeless man. Stan: Can't think of any times of him playing PlayStation. But Stan is somewhat of a contrarian and goes for the less popular option. Like when he voted Turd Sandwich over the more popular Giant Douche.

I’ve been playing the stick of truth recently and I think I got a hidden item! I don’t remember where I found it so if anyone knows pls do tell but, I found coffin glasses. They we’re in a drawer in one of the houses. I just finished beating princess Kenny, I beat Shelly, I got the flute, helped me slave, and played hide and seek before I found them. (I saved my little quests for after Kenny so I could play longer) but I’ve looked on item lists, accessory lists, anything to find them but they aren’t in any lists and nobody has talked about them and they aren’t included in any hidden item lists. I think I’m the first to find them or something- the description says ‘gothic eyewear for Poe readings’ and they have crosses on them I love them I’m goth too and they fit my new kid so well! I just wish I knew where I got them :( someone on Reddit suggested I did a combo of moves that made the item available to me but the only way to find where they’re from would be to open the files soooo- I’m not doing that! Maybe spending an unreasonable amount of time with the goth kids has something to do with it but idk-
