How does it feel for extended use (1+ hours) in the hand? I guess my worry is that it would be a little cramped after a short bit of grinding on a Pokemon game

The more you went on, the more I was craving for this little thing! The little details like the lighting color change and the possibility to have a theme music playing while browsing…it feels so premium! And performance looked sharp as well, why are you doing this to me 😂

Should add that the Brick you have has Crossmix OS installed, so if people buy the stock version they will have a slightly different experience on the front end / menu setup.

Despite being a diehard Miyoo Mini fan, I had to order one. Having a TrimUI Smart Pro in a mini form factor is simply too tempting, can't wait for Crossmix to release for this! It's also kinda insane that this has more raw power than the RG40XX V, despite being so tiny.

I've been watching videos about these retro handhelds for years. Never felt the need to buy one, especially after i got the SteamDeck. But I ended up getting the Brick. It's shocking how good this thing feels in hand. I think it's the perfect companion device to the SteamDeck. I can't overstate how beautiful retro games look on this thing, i guess because of the screen size VS resolution idk. But old Saga and Nintendo games look way better than I've ever seen before. For anyone wondering about custom software, MinUI is the best right now. Knulli is also available, but it needs a lot of work still. Crossmix seems to be months away, but it will be top dog, once its available. I've used all three, and MinUI is the most useable. And as much as l like tinkering with things, I do love the simplicity

After then , he is going to release the first official CrossMix OS Version for the Brick!! what you call crossmix is probably the worst variant of all your version has loads of bugs, errors and so on... by the way: thanks to cizia64 the Trimui Smart Pro has become the best low budget handheld of all times. only because of crossmix os the TSP is such a brilliant handheld!!! crossmix OS and onion OS definitely share first place among the best CFWs

The build quality seems really up a notch there besides the squishy back buttons 😉 Concerning the amount of preloaded games that's incredible, with even some recent ones 😅 (Thanks for this new review Mark 😉)

What an amazing device, it looks gorgeous! I will be that guy however and say that I'm really bummed about the lack of analog sticks. It's fine for most games but I just cannot image playing Half-Life for example on just a D-pad. But still, very impressive!

Yeah i feel ya mate - I was really surprised by how things worked still. Half life is a good example - turn with DPAD and strafe using the triggers actually works well but this with a little pair of sticks would be the one.

Will the CrossMix update to the latest Brick version v1.4 once releases or do you have to do some tweaking? Thinking to buy from MechDIY as well but I’m aware CrossMix hasn’t fully released yet and the current version is only to adapt for the Brick for the time being. It’ll be my first retro handheld so I’m not too clued up how firmwares/OS all works. Appreciate any help! Thanks!

So the ones i have been playing - Chaos Engine, Megalomania, BASS, Civilisation, Cybernoid, Dreamweb, Dune 2,Eye Of The Beholder,Future Wars, Goblins 1 and 2, Indie fate of atlantis,Loom, Midnight Resistance, Monkey Island, UFO Enemy unknown.... there are tons more but that is my Amiga 500 playlist but there are a bunch of AMIGA CD32 games as well...

It's very nice, I also have a RP5 but it's nice to options, I love the TrimUI for Gameboy. I use MinUI, really makes the Brick shine, only downside is that you lose all the lighting options.

@ with these emulators is the “cheat function” already set up? I’m not one for cheating 😂 however if I’m playing some classics I’d really like some quality of life improvements

@ well you can save wherever you want so that’s a cheat 😂 other cheats can be used though but you’ll need to set them yourself usually. Not difficult

The LED lighting isn't a nice touch imo, it's a tacky deal breaker. Can the led lights be turned off completely? What an awful design choice.
