Part of the reason I got this is dpad up top because my Odin 2 is already stick up top and the dpad on that is crampy. I’m sure custom grips will be able to make this a bit more comfy, though.

Stick on the bottom works fine, the problem is that they have it directly below the D-pad. They need to move it inboard, making V shape controls. Then you are not cramped using the lower controls. 🍻

Stick on the bottom on this device is only fine for d-pad centric games. And a lot of them can be played on cheaper devices (50-70$). I agree it's good for people that want to play specific dpad centric games from ps2, gamecube... . But it's definitelly not "fine" for people that want to play joystick centric games, unless they know they're gonna play only for short periods of time, or have young healthy hands(and they don't care about them). But when you know you gonna play only for short periods, why not just stick with pico-8 and be satisfied. Add nes/snes/gba and you are good for years.

Gen 5 down - stick bottom. Gen 6 up - stick top. This should be the universal rule.

3:32 this was the main complaint about rp4, but this is literally on %80+ handheld devices, including switch, switch lite and oled, but no one complained until rp4? It always shook me 🤷‍♂️

Plus the additional grip made it much more comfortable, even better so than the Odin 2. It's nice for the versatility.

6 mini should keep that stick setup and the larger 6 flips the sticks would be perfect.

Another down part is that it's really noisy. The fan and the buttons. The fan is like a plane. Besides that I love it. Specially 3ds with improved resolution, enjoying that a lot.

It's mentioned in the video. This will play everything up to PS2, GameCube and Wii nearly perfect. You can squeeze in some Switch but it won't be as smooth as it would be on a Switch itself.

I must be the only freak who doesn’t care about stick placement or controller preference. I just pick up anything and use it fine. I’m the same with guns and rifles though. Idk what it’s like to not be able to pick something up and just use it. All seems just natural for me. Not judging I just struggle to understand the actual struggle I guess for people interfacing with different things where as I just never have complaints haha

The RG556 right stick is in a better place too. The Pocket 5 right stick gets in the way of the buttons.
