I agree, but I don’t ever want Coogan to stop trying ... someday, perhaps if he rehearses enough, he’ll blow our bloody doors off. And even a B/B+ Caine with those improvised lines needs to be heard. I’ve watched it thrice today and I am literally shedding tears. I hate it when people abuse the 😂 emoji. I almost hate myself for using it, but I am barely able to breathe from laughing so uncontrollably. (I had to calm down a bit to write this.)
@reservoirdude924 жыл бұрын
@@annika_panicka There are so many instances of the two of them showcasing how genius they are though. There's a bit in The Trip to Spain where they reenact a scene from The Man with the Golden Gun while eating oysters and it is absolute gold, but Steve masters the Roger Moore voice PERFECTLY. All in all, both of them are just geniuses.
@annika_panicka4 жыл бұрын
@@reservoirdude92 Lol. Oh, yes-I have seen and loved them all. I just had to acknowledge that while Coogan's Caine may never rival Brydon's, I don't want him to bury it like so many Batmans. (Is it down to the natural timbre of their voices? Does Brydon have the better ear and spend more time rehearsing-I don't actually want to discuss as there's barely any oxygen getting to my brain at the mo'.) Not only are they both brilliant performers/mimics/observation-makers, but they're beyond quick-witted and scarily intellectual. Do they really have such a competitive relationship, though? I can't tell if they're friends, frenemies or something in between. BTW-I'm American and my only prior exposure to Coogan was in "Tropic Thunder." (Lol-what a coup casting-wise, but what a waste of his talent) and I had never even heard of Brydon before I embarked on _The Trips_ earlier this year. But I watched them repeatedly-each three times in a row like a woman possessed or obsessed, although I've never seen the full episodes of the series wot aired in the UK. Ah-Update: I just watched the British GQ "We're not a double act" interview from 2017-a very enlightening glimpse into their friendship and working relationship on the first three _Trips_ , if they are being sincere, which I think they are.

Reallu? I have never seen the batman movies other than the one with uh... Michael Keaton? Christian Bale is just a little too intense for me. Especially when he's going out of his way to be so -- like he was going out of his way to be scary -- Oddly I didn't believe his "performance" in American Psycho - it fell flat for me? That'ss what I read about the peformance in Batman - that he was trying really really hard to be scary...I could not watch EMpire of the Sun and The Machinest all the way through because of that kind of intensity. Masterful *performer*. Just masterful! Amazes.
