Steve's Billy Connoly is so dead on, it's almost scary. I heard that in England, broadsheet journalists have described his impressions as "stunningly accurate."
@BozPictures4 жыл бұрын
But he doesn't do the broken voice, when Billy Connolly gets really emotional.

I actually believe this was the recent pinnacle of British comedy. It absolutely kills me every time. It’s like having banter with your very best friend except you’re both actually as funny as you think you are. They aren’t just riffing, they’re on the fly improvising a comedy routine funnier than 99% of people could with years of practice. Two legends in their field, who will be respected the same as greats in the future I think. Having a fun chat in a car.
@xxczerxx5 жыл бұрын
I heard this show was only made to look like it was improvised, but was in fact word-for-work prepared
@Hudsonfalcon5 жыл бұрын
Mac you heard wrong.
@samx22225 жыл бұрын
@@Hudsonfalcon No, he heard right. The majority of it is all scripted, more script than improv. They would improvise then right then it into the script
@Hudsonfalcon5 жыл бұрын
sam x22 no he heard wrong. What he heard/wrote that it was word for word prepared which is just not true. Yes it was scripted for the most part but there were parts improvised or added while shooting.
@samx22225 жыл бұрын
@@Hudsonfalcon You should check out the interviews Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon did. They even said it themselves "everybody thinks they understood how we filmed it, but they really didn't"

In our house nobody can discuss what time to get up without it turning into the entire dialogue from this scene. It's become impossible to just say "I'm setting the alarm for seven".

@A-small-amount-of-peas4 ай бұрын
@@jake_fx the original comment states this clip has given him joy for 12 years, which is a clip from The Trip a show that has no script writing. There are 2 performers in this and both have experience of improvising in shows they have done. You actually think they're referring only to Steve I assume and his body of work? That makes no sense at all.

In 1974 I was catching the London train from Crewe station. It was very crowded; I found myself in a last-minute rush for the last remaining seat beside a tall, good-looking man with collar-length hair, it was the seventies; Buckaroo! I looked up and saw it was none other than Peter Purves, it was the height of his Blue Peter career. He said, “You Jammy bastard” and quick as a flash, I replied, “Don’t be blue, Peter!”

That's how it's made tho, allegedly they get together ahead of filming and chat, then they and the producer picks moments of their conversation for them to 're-live' for the camera so the subject matter is set for them to improv around
