I also bought a Triumph Bobber 2023 Black and it is going to some changes es we speak, new fender, new diamond stich seat, J&H Exhaust, white wall tires and a lot of other stuf, can't wait to see it back in 4 weeks......😍 I had Harleys, Fat Boy, and Breakout, but I absolutely love my Bobber👌

That pop corn popping when you roll off the throttle sounds great. I have a 2021 Rocket 3gt and it does the same thing when you rev it high then roll off the throttle. Sounds amazing. If I’m not mistaken, triumph did that on purpose.

My wife has a Bobber Black and over time I/we have made the following changes: slightly taller and wider bars, a gel insert in the seat, Ohlins coil-over, self-made tail tidy with bullet indicators and a crescent-shaped tail/brake light, bullet indicators for the front, which are mounted just under the top triple clamp. We changed the fork fluid for Putoline and removed the catalytic convertor in favour of an x-pipe. We also removed the reflectors from the front fork legs and I milled up a custom gear linkage just for fun. It's a great bike and she's not afraid to give it the message.

A nice set of British Customs open pipes then some nice leather panniers big enough to hold a gallon can of petrol as the fuel tank does not hold much fuel

I have a Bobber Black & absolutely love it. I find some of my opinions are completely different than most. I put some long days in on the bike with the statement seat & don’t think it’s bad, just need to get it set up for you. Look through my videos about how I have it setup (bike check), some stuff has changed since then but videos on all of it. Glad to hear about the Triumph partnership & that you chose a Bobber! Cheers

The suspension is definetly a upgrade that should be done a tank a little bit larger (I know is a bobber ) but it suck to put gas every 100 miles

I have a 2023 Chrome Edition. Only had it for a month now. I'm looking at the Thorton exhaust, side plate bracket and under seat lights then I'm just going to do away with the rear fender. The bike is all about nailing that look.

Don't throw away your standard exhaust as you will need to refit it for the MOT every year when an MOT is due. The Euro 5 bikes go into limp mode if the exhaust is messed about with. Something to consider...

@grahamtricker4103 In Canada we don't have yearly testing or inspections. I'm positive there is cars on the road here that have never seen a mechanic is 40 years for good or bad. I have all the cables and software to run TuneECU on it to flash the software.

I just ordered a new 2024 Stealth Edition Bobber. The dealer is offering 50% off all accessories and a $1,500 USD gift voucher. I'll use half of the voucher for 1st class insurance and the rest for accessories. First up is a new brown quilted seat and Motech handlebar risers. Second, are saddle bag racks and two black saddlebags! Third is a front fender extension and radiator guard. I thought the sizes of UK license plates were regulated?

Congratulations on your purchase! The Stealth Editions are gorgeous bikes as is, and the changes you're making will make the Bobber even better! Strictly speaking they are, but if you go a bit smaller, no one seems to mind. It will pass an MOT and the police tend to turn a blind eye 👀

I'll be up at Newlands Corner on my Bobber this weekend. Mine is fairly standard apart from the optional floorboards with heel/toe shift, the fox rear shock, and several cosmetic Motone accessories, and for me that's enough. More than happy to leave it comparatively stock 😉

I have a 20' Speed Twin. I upgraded my fork internals and rear shocks. I know the Bobber is a mono shock, but they can also be upgraded for more adjust ability. Also having someone help you get the suspension set for your weight always helps. Cheap upgrade is the throttle cable spacer. Do you have the stone guard for the radiator? Shorter fenders will make that even more needed.
@TheBritishMotorbiker
@TheBritishMotorbiker Жыл бұрын
I hear the Speed Twin is a lovely machine, but I'm yet to ride one. If I had one of these, I would definitely play around with a new suspension set up as there were times I hit bumps and it hurt! This was a press bike, so it didn't have a stone guard, but it's a must!

Exhaust system, cat delete, air box delete, handlebar risers, levers, grips, monta gas cap, mirrors, turn signals, brake pads, chain, larger primary gear (a 17 or 18 tooth I think) for starters. Do some painting on the aluminum parts, paint the fake carbs a brass color, paint the brake calipers, paint the Brembo writing with red fingernail paint, put in a gas valve in place of the gas tank hose snap coupling, figure a way to mount a spring assist seat, install stickier tires, downsize the tire width one size for both front and back for better cornering, etc, etc.

Instead of going down the modded route, I just bought a TFC. Yes, its more money but they hold their value well and you get everything on the list including the Ohlins forks & shock + clip-ons. You can still add the odd minor change to make it personal as long as you refit the original parts before you sell it on.

@@TheBritishMotorbiker Yep, I was lucky to pick up a bobber TFC a few moths back which had been part of a well maintained collection with only 1 mile on it! Statement seats taken a while to get used to as its very firm and I'm considering fitting a x-pipe to give it a bit more of a voice, but love it so far. Such an awesome bike to just ride about on for fun. It gets so much attention everywhere it goes.

never thought I would ever think about a british bike afer wrenching on my old BSA... But this machine is very nice. Too bad Harley could not have done this with the Sportser. You can not tell it is water-cooled. it looks and sounds greats. I own 2 bikes, a 2018 Kawasaki Zed 900 naked & a 2023 Harley Soft Tail Standard. I keep looking for space in the stable for a 3rd bike, because I may just want this beauty.

Damn, that OEM pannier looks good on this bike.. I was so dead set on having a sort of messenger bag on my bike and got a different rack that turned out not to be practical at all since the fastening options are limited and don't really work well with for instance the Trip Machine Rambler Backpack that I got... Now I am seriously reconsidering going for that OEM one. It just sits so right.. #drool So far I've only done some small adjustments to the bike, one of my recent video covers most of those and incidentally - most of the changes ARE actual covers :D Turned the mirrors upside down as most do, but got really annoyed at looking so low down and constantly moving my arms out of the way that now switched 'em back. Dart classic windscreen is really nice. I never rode the bike without it so can't say how much difference does it make, but I like the look and I am sure it takes some wind off of my chest. I don't want to limit my riding for clear skies so not touching the length of the fender, but definitely will want to change the plate holder and lights at some point.
@TheBritishMotorbiker
@TheBritishMotorbiker Жыл бұрын
That's frustrating that the bags haven't been practical. The OEM ones were brilliant for the short time I was using them. I like the idea of having the mirrors inverted, but as you say, it's a pain having to crank the neck all the time. Good luck with all the future modifications!

I added the same bags you have there, changed the shock,fox shock, the dealership accessoried it with high bars, a few derby covers, black ones, and a headlight ring. I ordered a puig windscreen but it didn't fit even though the factory advertised it would on my 2023 ?.. any recommendations for one?

Hey. I’ve got a bobber and literally about to get some mods done to it over the next week - I am cutting the rear fender down (halfway as I still want a fender), having 3 in 1 rear lights and indicators cause as you say the set up is so bulky and ugh, moving the number plate to the side cause again.. huge and doesn’t look good. I’ve always loved the bobbers but felt the rear end of the bike always let them down. I’m also in the midst of getting a custom seat made, it’s a personal touch I like to do for my bikes, not a comfort thing at all. I’m also getting the tank sprayed a bare metal brushed texture steel look. Future mods - I cannot stand the stock shock. I dread pot holes as they break my back so that’s next on my list to get an aftermarket shock. I bought the bike with drag pipes on, but I’d like to get x pipe fitted. I’m also getting the reflectors taken off the forks and some black decals to look like fork covers as I think it’ll look way cleaner up front. I also want to get some shorties levers as I have tiny hands. I think that’s about it for me now 🤔😂 It’s never ending really when you think about it. That’s the joy of bikes and especially bikes like the bobber - so much potential! 🔥

Thanks for going into so much detail! I like the idea of having a shorter fender and neatening up the rear lights. Moving the plate is a good idea too, and a custom seat will be a lovely addition. Best of luck with all the future modifications; they sound terrific. I look forward to seeing the changes.

With regards to your comment about the exhaust, were you meaning that you didn't like the pops on deceleration or that you did? I have a Honda Rebel 500 that pops nicely but I didn't like the look of the stock exhaust so threw a V&H on. Loved the visual improvement but hated the increased volume and pops and backfires that could be heard in the next county lol. The stock exhaust is back on and the V&H sold. Just thinking that if the stock on the bobber is too loud, a competition system may blow your ear drums out.
@TheBritishMotorbiker
@TheBritishMotorbiker Жыл бұрын
On the contrary, I adore the sound of popping on a bike :) I agree that some exhausts are ridiculously loud, especially when people remove the DBKiller, and it makes it unpleasant for other road users.

If you have a 2022 and onwards Euro 5 bike you won't be able to change the exhaust as they come in one piece, plus the engine will go into limp mode if the exhaust is messed about with. If you want to mess about with the exhaust you will need to buy the earlier pre Euro 5 model.

@@TheBritishMotorbiker You might be able to change the complete exhaust for something different and there may be some companies who can remap the ECU to take account of the change of exhaust and the different fuelling it will require. Changing the exhaust for a free flowing exhaust will have an impact on the fuelling so it will probably need remapping. In view of that I would ask yourself if it is worth all the hassle when the standard exhaust is pretty good to start with.

Change the rear shock and seat, the rest of the changes are down to personal taste. I had a pie cut titanium twisted decat exhaust put on mine, awesome sound, 200 rear wheel, did a tail tidy to lose the lights, for me it’s how I want it. In hindsight, I should have just got a Thornton Hundred but can’t justify their depreciation values after a year or two…..
