I love the way he wrote Savine. Brilliant! Rikke's arc was my favorite. I liked Trouble With Peace more than A Little Hatred and that was a 10/10 for me. I think TwP is my favorite Abercrombie book too.

Just reread this and am dying for The Wisdom of Crowds right about now. TTWP is the definition of all killer, no filler. It's just nuts how good it is. I just... I really need to know where all the characters go from here.

Best Served Cold was also my favourite Abercrombie book! Whenever I’ve recommended First Law to female friends I always thought I had to warn that it might be a little testosterone-y for their tastes (especially the first four books). Feels good being wrong.

It is a stunning book. I've tried getting people to read his books and they usually look at me crazy as I try to describe Glokta and keep stammering "But the prose..." I feel your pain in trying to describe something you think is perfect as it is without using spoilers. It's like trying to review a sunrise without using colors. I was floored by how well Abercrombie can pull off gimmicky writing in battle scenes. Gimmicky writing is never supposed to work. I believe it was The Heroes where he started each scene change with the same phrase he ended the last with. His description of the big multifront battle as a Rube Goldberg daisy chain of points of view in The Trouble With Peace was just incredible. That takes some serious chops to attempt, much less pull off and pull you in at the same time.

This definitely jumped to my #1 for Joe's books. In fact I think it already made it there when I was 3/4 of the way though it, a truly excellent book. I look forward to your review with spoilers then I can also gush in the comments section of that one with my favourite scenes!! haha

I absolutely loved the book (pulled an all-nighter and had finished by the next day). Got two random thoughts/theories: 1) Zuri is described in a Little Hatred as being surprisingly strong/has brothers who look nothing like her or each other/ in ‘The Trouble With Peace’ at the start of the chapter ‘The Truth’ Savine notices that she has tightly wrapped bandages under her dress (Zuri says the blood on them is not her own). I took this as pretty much confirmation that Zuri is Ishri (the eater from Best Served Cold/ the Heroes) who was always wrapped in bandages. In ‘A Little Hatred’ Savine mentions that Glokta introduced her to Zuri. Does Glokta know who Zuri really is (and has placed her with Savine as a sort of bodyguard) or is he unaware that he’s given his daughter an eater for a handmaid? 2) This is kind of a long shot, but has Tolomei somehow gotten out of the House of the Maker? Selest Dan Heugen has suddenly gotten very influential in Adua at the expense of Savine and is also the one who tells Leo about Orso and Savine. Whilst telling him she say’s ‘…Bayaz could have locked me in the House of the Maker and I’d still have found a way to attend’ which seems an odd choice of words since I don’t think what Bayaz did to Tolomei and Yulwei is common knowledge. We know from what she did with Bayaz apprentice Malacus Quai that she can take on the form of other people, and helping to sow discord between Orso and Leo would destabilise the Union (which she may see as a part of attacking Bayaz). Sorry for the long comment and I’m aware this could all be bullshit fan theory but it’s what occurred to me whilst reading. Love the channel btw.

You have until September next year, he always releases the books of his trilogies 12 months apart, "A Little Hatred" was 12 months ago and "The Wisdom of Crowds" will be 12 months from now. The stand alones are fantastic, happy reading!! (don't forget Sharp Ends after you finish the stand alones)

(SPOILERS!!) Vick is the most central character in the trilogy. She is involved in all the main story beats (aside from the Northmen fighting among themselves). And now her eyes are opened to the evil of the banks (aka Bayaz). After all, Vitari, Brint and Pike have all told her how they have corrupted the Union. Moreover, she suffered in a penal camp in Angland and knows the Union at its worst. Vick is also always trying to justify her purpose, as if she is looking for a cause, though she will never admit it. But Pike recognizes this and offers her one--to root out corruption from the Union and rebuild it anew. And Pike is no fool. He understands the politics of the world and what Bayaz is capable of. As a very capable person herself, I think Vick will finally be the one to outwit Bayaz and orchestrate his downfall--with a little help from friends of course, namely Orso and Rikke. Or she might turn on every one at the last minute end up 'standing' with Bayaz. Being Abercrombie, that would not surprise me at all.

I absolutely hate the editing. I hate the chappie changes. It sucks. I wish you would change that. All it does is frustrate a person. It’s the same as if you’re watching a movie and it’s choppy like that. Anything should be much more subtle. So that people can pay attention to what you’re saying. I finish this video because it’s too irritating.
