Hey Sam , would just like to share my experience with the sticky buttons in my F430. Sent my car to an interior restoring/cleaning specialist and he had a service that removed the coating that causes the sticky mess and refinished the surface with a material that will not get sticky. By replacing the effected parts with new items from Ferrari , the sticky situation is likely to reappear in a year or two. Just sharing , great video btw love any of your content when it involves a ferrari lol. Cheers

My uncle owns a Ferrari 360 since it first released back then. He still has it till this day. His family keeps telling him to sell it since the car has had a few problems. A recent problem he had was the key not working properly so he couldn't get into the car unless he used the master key and other problems as well. The key issue happend after he filled his Ferrari at the local gas station. The car was working fine but decided to not work after filling up. Since he didn't have the master key with him he had to ask his son to drive and deliver the master key to him in order to get it to work again. The main reason why my Uncle doesn't want to sell it despite its maitanence cost is because the Ferrari 360 was his first Ferrari he purchased after working hard and becoming successful.

Sam fully agree especially sticky buttons, not to same extent but the very first job I did on my recently purchased 997.1 was to replace the Aircon switches which suffered from the common paint peel - for me such a simple fix made the interior just look so much better 😎

When you're thinking that 8 grand is a massive bill, you have to compare it to the depreciation you'd be dealing with if you had a newer car that wouldn't need 8 grand of repairs. These are the kind of jobs that by doing them, you're keeping the value of your classic at or above what you paid for it. Don't do it and watch the other 360's that do get the work done start being more appealing than yours.

£95 an hour is cheap, especially with the caliber of cars they work on. A dealers hourly rate doesn't vary depending on the type of work, an oil change or a engine swap still get charged the same hourly rate and you're not just paying for the mechanics time but all the overheads involved in providing that service.
@tgbian3 жыл бұрын
@@edmurth is it really this expensive in the uk? because here in Malaysia, the cost for an oil change labour is just about 3 quids. Swapping out the front and rear anti rollbars is about 15 quids. If i'm being brutally honest, everything that sam changed would only be charged at a maximum of 200 quids (for labour) at most here in Malaysia. I've been told that in the states, eu, aussie labour is expensive. But I didn't knew it'd be this much! It makes me super grateful to still be in a country where the prices still makes sense.

@@tgbianan experienced mechanic will earn over £10 an hour, probably between £12 - £15 and that's just one who works on Ford's, VW's etc. The minimum wage in the UK for people over 23 is £8.91 an hour.
