The Good Bishop resides 1 hour from my home in Minnesota, and I marvel at times to think that a man so holy, so conformed to the wisdom of the Almighty, is so close. But Jesus said He would never abandon us, and the Holy Spirit would sustain His Church through every trial in every age. Bishop Barron is one of many such wise teachers given to Our Time in history. An indicator perhaps, of the wickedness into which the unbelieving world has fallen, and the stubborn faithfulness of God to those who choose to love Him, to follow Him, and to serve Him. I agree - we are Blessed.

I’m currently listening to your book, Catholicism, the chapter on Mary has been enlightening. A man can't be 100% man and 100% God unless otherwise written in the scripture or transmitted through Christian tradition. Then, when we find out that Jesus never claimed to be God in the scripture, our mind will ask questions why the Christian tradition contradicts the scripture. When we review the history of schism in Christian tradition, we find that: During the 1st century, the Coptic Orthodox Church taught the Gospel’s message according to Mark who believed Jesus was 100% man and 0% God. He was the Messiah. During the 2nd century, the Coptic Church taught the Gospel’s message according to Arius - First schism. Trinity was canonized in approx. 325. Arius refused to sign - second schism. Protestants vs. Catholics War From 1562 to 1598 the death toll is estimated at 2 million. Protestants vs. Catholics warfare from 1618 to 1648 the lowest estimate for death toll is 3 million and the highest estimate is 11.5 million. Conclusion: Jesus died on the cross. This is proof he is mortal. He used to eat and drink, otherwise he would have died from hunger. this is proof he is mortal. Jesus himself said I am son of man. This is the most repeated verse vertically and horizontally. adding "son" means I belong to the human race. I am son of man is definitive in meaning (certain). Therefore, Jesus is 100% man and 0% God, because certainty cannot be dismissed by doubt.

@@Don-ok6qu The strongest evidence from the Bible for the murder and resurrection of jesus is when he met with his disciples in galili after he rose from the dead. The resurrected Jesus told his disciples he was crucified and risen from the dead. Bible scholars admit that this story was made up. They did not find this story in the two oldest complete NT codex sinaiticus and codex Vaticanus.

Thank you so much Bishop Barron for your service. I read from your twitter the sad news about your mother passing away the other day (Aug. 4, '23) at a ripe old age of 101, yet you're still serving us broken children of God. Even when you're experiencing darkness in your life, you're still able to bring light and guidance to us your children in Christ. You're consoling us with the Word of God even though you need consoling yourself. Thank you Bishop Barron for being selfless like Jesus. You are truly a pastor after the Heart of Jesus. We will all pray for you and your family that God would continue to strengthen and console you in this difficult time. And that God would greatly reward your beloved mother for giving us her fine son as her gift to the Church. Our condolences to your grieving family and may God continue to bless you all with His loving presence. Peace of Christ.

I like how Bishop Barron posed some rhetorical questions in his homily. I appreciated the context of Daniel 7, and how it adds great power to Jesus's declaration as the Son of Man, particularly at His trials. And I greatly appreciated the insight about Sts. Peter, James, and John, that we are called to love Christ, be loved by Him, and courageously strive in His army, because His glory is real. Even if we can't hold it in its fullness now, thanks be to God that we've been given a vision of it.

It's very clear that we should be opening our hearts more to Jesus. If we let him manifest through our daily lives he will be able to have more effect on the world. We are here to spread the good word and take everyone else along with us to the army. I had read the book of Daniel and the series of beasts/kingdoms rising and falling. There's a lot of these things happening in our world now that are very relevant. There's quite a few books that we can read up to in the bible and pretty much say that's where we are roughly today. As for what you were saying, I really like the way you put this line: Like Peter we should fall in love with him with all our hearts. Like John, we need to allow him to love us. Like James we must be ready to give our lives for him. We all should take the time to re-evaluate our relationship with God and let him flourish in our life. When we open our hearts to him we are able to do his will on this earth and get things done for him. It's super wonderful to know that he is with us every moment in life.

I appreciate all the bkgrnd explanation of Daniel 7 w/the Transfiguration & also, the symbolisms of Moses, Elijah, & the 3 disciples, as well as this thought of seeing Jesus' both truly human & divine natures, manifested here before the crucifixion & resurrection. Understanding the Hebrew Scriptures (OT) w/ Jesus' day kindles the awesome wonder of GOD's reaching for humanity & JESUS as that fulfillment of heaven & earth. How blest we are! Thank you, Bishop Barron, for allowing yourself to be the conveyor of GOD's message, that "Word on Fire".

How blessed we are to have your homilies each week Bishop Barron! As an artist I agree with you 100% that this captures the imagination of creative people and people everywhere. I’ve painted depictions of the Transfiguration a couple of times and I think it’s time now to paint the event once again. It is my favorite scene in the NT. It inspires awed adoration of our lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Love! Blessings to you and to the whole world!
