Another great video. Once the image is staked, will Helicon allow it to be saved as a photoshop file for additional editing? Do you do a simple color grade before stacking?

Helicon can save as tiff or dng. Typically, I do some basic Lightroom edits to get the most out of the raw data, then bring into helicon, then into photoshop. It’s just one extra step for me.

I have never used Helicon for landscape images but have for macro. Are you rounding with DNG files or do you send the final Helicon stack back to PS as a tiff?

I have been taking the finished stack as a tiff into photoshop for my final edits.

Its 1-13-25 and PS works good for me and Helicon is no better or worst.

Hi Nickolas, Very informative video and great images. I find similar issues with focus stacking in Photoshop. If you recall my mud cracks image from when we were last together, I needed to do some manual masking to correct issues with the focus stacking done by Photoshop. I will need to check out Helicon Focus. Thank you!

Yes, I kept running into the same problems. It’s extra money, but easily worth it for me.

I have an image of a barbed-wire fence with trees and stuff that I focus stacked. It looks like there’s a force field around the barbed-wire. Lol. I think I’ll have to get this helicon software. Thanks Nickolas!!
