I've recently started shooting digital from film and my first instinct is, yes this is cheating because you're not really capturing a moment by merging the photos together. However, if you think of photography as an artform, rather than documentation of a scene or subject, then no, this isn't cheating, it's creative expression. It's a stunning image either way. I've found your videos super useful! Keep up the great work.

Just to inform people u should use manual control exposure on a tripod to ensure each frame is same exposure and white balance.. also when u import as layers in photoshop u should click all layers and use auto align layers to get all frames to line up then u can use masking to blend....

This is a great technique! I just took a few shots of wild flowers and mountain and came back to do something similar but the flowers didn’t all get into focus due to the multiple depth layers. But these worked very well! Nice job 👍🏼

you could try focus stacking if you're using a low f stop/shallow depth of field if you want it all in focus?

no different than swapping faces for the family portrait! You added some warm color that was actually there, just not at the time the first pic was taken, and then you added a better-than-what was there splash agaist the rocks. I used to swap faces or smiles all the time!

Cheating!!!????????? Not hardly!!! You took all the shots!! Is it cheating if a person wears makeup to hide blemishes??? If it's cheating, blame Adobe for putting this feature into Photoshop! Is dodging or burning "cheating" by hiding or revealing certain photo features???? Some people might say this is cheating but creating a beautiful image is the point! The vast majority of those enjoying the photo would never know anyhow!!!!!!

Hmmm ? Cheating or blending ? Not sure I approve. For me the goal would be to capture the image in one shot. If you declared to the viewer / audience that it was a composite / blended image then fair enough. So then the reply might be. It's not real, that moment actually never happened. Where is the authenticity ? Each to their own, not my cup of tea....But interesting nonetheless.
