Those who venerate the virtues of modern day Israel are ignorant of the people behind the scenes who created this state in 1948. It's creation isn't the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy in any way, shape or form and those who believe otherwise are doomed to suffer at the hands of false prophets who proclaim this lie. Many inhabitants of Israel today, or adherents of Judaism, have no genetic connection to Jacob or the two surviving tribes of Israel (Judah or Benjamin). In addition, both John the Baptist and Jesus made it absolutely clear that their genetic relationship to Abraham (and by association - Benjamin and Judah) was worthless (Matthew 3:9 & John 8:33 & 39).

In 1948, the long exiled and scattered children of Israel returned to their ancestral land of Israel and a nation was reborn in one day. That day, 14th May, 1948, was the resurrection of the State of Israel after nearly 2000 years. It was something humanly impossible. When it happened, it happened in one day. In 1967, the divided city of Jerusalem was returned to the children of Israel and the city again become united as one Jerusalem. That also happened in one day, June 7, 1967. It was on the third day of an unwanted six day war that began on June 5th. The third day in the Bible symbolizes resurrection. The time is drawing near when the Jewish Temple will return to its rightful place and exact location on the Temple Mount. It will be erected over the Foundation Stone upon which the Ark of the Covenant once stood. Another human impossibility. Another divine miracle.

The Apostle Paul's reference to "False Israel" (Romans 9:6-8) and their relationship with God, finished with the death of Christ and their rejection of Him as the Son of God and Messiah, and with God later visiting His wrath upon them by destroying the temple in Jerusalem in 70AD in fulfilment of Jesus' prophecy in Matthew 24:2 and elsewhere. “And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” (Matthew 24:2) Up until that time, it was the greatest destruction and loss of life that the ancient world had ever seen. But due to their disobedience He finally judged them for their spiritual adultery and rejection of their Messiah (Joshua 21:43, Deuteronomy 19:8-9, Deuteronomy 28, 1 Kings 4:20-21 and 1 Kings 9:7).

Here are a couple things to keep in mind regarding Fort Antonia: In 4BCE, General Varus twice garrisoned one of his 3 legions within Jerusalem. Only place for them would have been Fort Antonia; Herod's palace was not large enough and it was already occupied by Procurator Sabinus and his personal guard. Sabinus even had to climb up to one of the towers of Herod's palace to signal to the legion to attack the Temple (only makes sense if the legion was not garrisoned at Herod's palace, but at fort Antonia). Josephus described the Roman garrison in Jerusalem as a "tagmata"; the Greek word he used to reference a Roman legion. It was translated correctly by Whiston, but inexplicably mistranslated by Thackeray as a Cohort. Josephus consistently used "tagmata" to describe a legion and "speiras" to describe a cohort. Both translators were also consistent with their translations, except Thackeray in that one instance. Fort Antonia was a Herodian fortress (not Roman), built and expanded over the Hasmonean fortress known as the Baris. There is also evidence that there was a fortification during the First Temple Period. When Herod first built Fort Antonia, it was a palace, admin center, housing for the priestly garments, and a fort. After Herod built his own palace an moved there, a Roman legion occupied Fort Antonia. Even Josephus said that there was always a legion ("tagmata") stationed there. Fort Antonia today would have remains of a Jewish-style palace, and Jewish and Roman fortifications. Fort Antonia was a Jewish fortress, built by Jews and later occupied by Romans. As to the beams, they likely belonged to the 1st temple period fortification. The tiles likely belonged to the palatial complex within the fort, when occupied by Herod prior to his move to his main palace in the western part of the city. The stones could have easily been recycled after 70CE. Temple-related items such as bells and coins could have easily been brought in by anyone before and/or after 70CE; especially considering that the priestly garments and other temple items were kept in Fort Antonia. Fort Antonia was built upon and expanded over the Hasmonean Baris, which was south of the fosse/ravine/moat which Pompey had to fill-in, in order to attack Jerusalem from the north, capture the Baris and take the Temple. However, modern archaeologists place Fort Antonia north of the fosse; when it should be south (look it up). I can add more, but I think this is long enough as it is... cheers!

C o r p s is pronounced core. Not corpse. At the time of Jesus there were no more than about 100 Roman soldiers in all of Jerusalem and the City of David. Furthermore, there were several descriptions that the Temple was about 600 ft from the Dome of the Rock with a Causeway in between it and the Dome of the Rock. So it's not on the Dome of the Rock platform and never has been.

It is mind-boggling how many people cherry-pick to try and prove this or that. Even the official government of Israel does this as pointing to another location other than the temple mount is extremely unpopular, especially with current Rabbinical leadership. Let's not beat around the bush. Is the Current called Temple Mount the location of the 1st and 2nd Temple? Answer NO! Can I say this with 100% certainty? YES! Do I know where the original temple was located? Yes. Am I 100% sold on that location? No! Although the evidence is overwhelmingly strong for the location I believe, I was not there prior to 70AD to see exactly where it was. All I can do like many scholars is read the historical references and apply what is known concerning the temple. Josephus tells us some interesting tidbits which modern scholars want to distort or ignore. One was that a traveler at the time of the 2nd Temple before its destruction could not see the Temple from the northern road because Fortress Antonia blocked the view. If the Temple was on the current Temple Mount, you should be able to see it for around 12 miles from the North because of the overall height of the Temple. That is information by a source who was extremely detailed in what he described. 2nd Josephus said that the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem was so thorough that had he not known where the temple was located he would not be able to know where it stood. That is an interesting statement. If the Temple was on the current so-called Temple Mount, then it would be a no-brainer and super easy to say it was there! However, according to Josephus, the temple was so destroyed even the foundations were dug up. That description once again knocks out the Temple Mount because its foundations are intact. Josephus also stated Jerusalem was completely destroyed except the location of Fortress Antonia. So, that is now 3 items that are against the Temple Mount currently being pointed to. The biggest more conclusive evidence is the Jewish Synagogues built after 1st temple and before 2nd temple, all had their Torah niches pointing to the Holy of Holies at the original Temple location. We know where three of these were located inside of Jerusalem. One of which was apart of King David's Tomb complex. When you draw a straight line of all three of these Torah Niches to see where the lines cross, you get the location of the Holy of Holies. FYI, none of the Torah Niches point to the current Temple Mount. Rather they point to another location. That location is on an outcrop of Mount Moriah and more to the west-northwest of the City of David. As for the City of David, anyone who promotes that location is not using biblical sources nor historical sources. They are just making up stuff. The last major evidence is actually in the Cairo Museum. It is a contract with 70 Jewish Rabbis and their families to immigrate from Tyre and Syria to Jerusalem. They agreed on one condition which is documented. They wanted to live next to the temple. They identified the location as next to the Jewish Market. Ironically, that is the area where all three of the Torah Niches point to. The location that it points to is generally still in ruins to this day. However, there is a convent there which was known from the 3rd century as the location of the Temple. However, Constantine was not looking for the Jewish Temple when they were there. They were looking for Christian locations. Even Great scholars like Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon or Maimonides said the Temple location was not on the platform of Fortress Antonia. That was roughly around 1170s AD but next to the Jewish Market and he pointed out the Torah Niches all point to the Holy of Holies. To this day, ALL Torah Niches around the world are supposed to point to Jerusalem. However, inside Jerusalem, they point specifically to the Holy of Holies. Why no one is bothering to look at the facts is mind-blowing! Truth is truth. The 3rd Temple can be built without any issues as the location of the Temple is for the most part still a pile of rubble with gardens for the Convent taking up a good section of what was the Temple Complex.

You are correct, there was never a legion of Roman soldiers in Rome until about 66 ad. But there was not a temple on top of Temple mount either. It was down right behind where the Western Wall currently has been re-elected several hundred years ago. Furthermore it is adjacent to where David's Palace used to be because David could walk out of his Palace and walk onto the land he bought that the temple was put on that is farmland. I dare you to try and plant crops on the Temple mount I also find it very suspicious that people would wash their feet at Gohan Springs and then walk a quarter of a mile and get their feet dirty before they could get to the temple.
