I’ve read that coffee can prevent full absorption of iron. I’d be interested in an in depth video on caffenine given that it’s the most consumed legal substance outside of alcohol. I feel like people praise it overwhelmingly and never look into the potential downsides, and this is coming from someone who loves coffee.

I have too much iron without supplements. It’s a genotype which messes with the iron absorption in the body called hemochromatosis. It’s uncommon but definitely worth mentioning

i know this is a joke, but cooking with cast iron actually does supplement your iron intake from the trace amount of iron that is released into the food when cooking.

I began watching these videos around April of last year and around this time I was weighting in at 241 at 5’6 - 17yo. I would skip my blood tests and my cardiovascular appointments (genetic heart issues) out of fear exposing what i’ve been doing to my body. I would make BLT’s, hotdogs and other greasy foods at 12am almost every night and over time I just began to feel very tired of killing myself slowly so after school ended, I really wanted to take control of my eating habits and consumption and that’s exactly what I did. I didn’t really take these videos seriously at first, I would watch, think to myself about how I need to change and went and had a double cheeseburger. But over time I began to make changes towards my grocery list, I implemented what food went into my system, what time of the day I stopped eating and how much i was consuming and most importantly I changed my sleeping schedule! Yes its been over a year and I am not at my destined preference but I am coming in at 183.7 as of June 3 and I feel amazing. I have also helped motivate my other family members and they’re also seeing their own success as well. I now view these videos as helpful reminders of how I want my life to really be, Thank you Talon.

When you first showed up on my feed I recoiled, because I thought you were one of those "No sugar, no fat, if you eat cake you have failed." kinda channels, but, since my feed is lacking in reliable nutriention content, I decieded to watch a few of your videos, and I am glad I did, because while I personnallt havn't learned anything, you recontexterlize the infomation in a way I hadn't done before, like, your tier lists, I didn't learn anything by pure facts, but, I really thought some things would be ranked diffrelently because I don't fully understand how things relate to each other, I am just someone who has an interest in making my diet better than it is currently. so yeah, thank you for making this channel.

would absolutely love to see a nutrition tier list on various cooking methods EG frying vs baking vs boiling, steaming, air frying, microwave, blanching, sous vide, grilling, smoking, slow cooking etc etc. I know that might not be easy considering it depends a lot on the temperatures used, time cooked and what’s actually being cooked in the first place, but would be interesting to hear if there's any general trends / differences between certain cooking methods. (also phenomenal video as always, you’ve genuinely changed how I eat for the better! )

Why doesn't this have more views? Iron is THE most common deficiency and it's so important to watch out for. I actually had no idea seafood was a source of iron, let alone that big. I had been told before that tahini is a good way to introduce a boost of iron to your diet. Add it to salads, toast, or eat it as halwa.

One way to get too much iron is with red blood cell transfusions. As a kid I had a condition called aplastic anemia where my bone marrow didn’t make enough blood cells. I got a bone marrow transplant to cure me but before then I needed a lot of double red and platelet transfusions. Double red transfusions are so iron rich that I would get a metallic taste in my mouth. After all was said and done and my new bone marrow took hold I then had to undergo multiple sessions of what was essentially modern day blood letting (just taking a pint of blood once a month for a few months) to remove iron indirectly. It took about half a year and ten years later I still have a high ferritin level. It’s just barely below the high end of normal.

Or as your channel is based upon fitness maybe just a video explaining the basics around calories and calories out and losing weight.

I LOVE this True Nutrients series because it focuses solely on the one specific nutrient with points of emphasis being why it matters and what foods are good sources. Your poll question said that this series doesn’t get as much views, but I think it’s just as important as the Tier Lists. After all, isn’t it the foods with high amounts of the true nutrients that rank high on the tier list? 🤔

We swapped from non-stick to cast iron when we had our first and other than being a slight headache to clean it has served us well ever since. plus it will basically last forever so no more garbage cookwear wearing out after a couple years. my only caution is to not stew anything too acidic in it as everything will stick the next time you cook in it. Iron supplements are no fun, they... stop things up... real fast. Avoid them if you can otherwise things can get... rocky....
