@ColWilBald2 жыл бұрын
Should be noted that the only reason they're this big is because of how the field of view works in this game. Also keep in mind that even as recently as the kharaa outbreak things have changed. There was probably a lot more life before the outbreak but that bacterium is devastating
@ktm11252 жыл бұрын
It existed in the days before kaharaa bacteria, and it lived outside the crater. In game we see the remains of a previous leviathan that was similar to a snail, with a lenght of 1200 (about as long as the aurora). Meaning with time the leviathans got exponentialy smaller.

in game that's not the size of things when you hold a peeper it's not half a meter. it's maybe a ruler in length so 30 centimetres. cause the players hand is about the same as its tail is long, maybe a little less which would be 10 centimetres at most right? the tail is 2/5-1/3 the length of its body so it just doesn't add up for me. same with the emperor. she is bigger than it gets across in a game I believe that but it feels like every is 30-50% bigger that how it is rendered in game to the player. the seamoth seems about right and some other things fit but I think the measurements used in game aren't proportional to how they are rendered relative to one another. idk it's just off. a lot of them feel off some I'm ok with like I'll accept that but the small crabs and juvenile emperor are way bigger than they are in game. like the juvenile I have swam touching them and they are the same size as the prawn suit is roughly cause I measured it once when I beat the game not completely intentionally but I hoped out of the suit and one swam right next to it as it went to the exit and they were pretty close.

Well it’s crazy to think about in a realistic point of view like imagining yourself in that situation in RL. Cause according to their sizes pretty much all of the aggressive creatures should be able to OHK you realistically. The stalker could literally bite you in half or whole if it tried and don’t even get me started on the sandshark or the bone shark. Not to mention creatures that don’t even necessarily bite you like the amp eel, it prolly puts out enough current for its size that even coming remotely close to would guarantee your demise never-mind touching it. And these are creatures that you’d have to encounter on your journey to survive and find a way off the planet like the Crab Squids im sure their organic EMP emissions aren’t exactly good for your health. Hell even the crab snake, when it lunges out of the mushrooms that’s a wrap, GG, no way the PC’s arms or yours are stopping those pincer mandible things from impaling you/him or at least wrangling you around enough to the point that some of your scuba gear knocks loose and you end up drowning and getting eaten anyway. They should add the gargantuan leviathan in the actual original game in the form of a kindof Easter egg, where a juvenile has a 1/100 chance of spawning in the dunes and an adult has a 1/500 chance of spawning somewhere deep in the void. I know this might cause issues for the whole lore thing, but I thought of a cool story; what if the gargantuan leviathans didn’t reproduce sexually, but after they die, it takes a century for their bodies to decompose, and part of it forms into an egg. This egg then drifts, usually into the void, where it takes another century to hatch, then the baby feeds on ghost leviathans. That would explain in a kind of natural sense why the hell something that big exists and how it could be implemented into the vanilla version. Also, I would include the voice line “warning: the odds of surviving an apex class leviathan are [some number] to 1. Are you sure- [incomprehensible] you are ready to die?”

How did you do this? where did you get all the models? I would love to know!
@Aci_yt Жыл бұрын
I used the models from the games and just lined them up in Blender, compared sizes in game and then scaled them accordingly :)
