I worked this out last night trying to play quietly. Just breathe out.

But it DOES require more air pressure to ascend on a contant loudness. That achieved by increasing the blowing effort by some amount. One CAN ascend on some pitches at a contant Pressure with diminishing loudness on each partial. But even then with a limit.
