...boy...some of these comments...🙄 Ok, in the spirit of pointing people in the correct direction: 1) BAPHOMET is an amalgamation of symbols from Hermeticism/Alchemy/Kabbalah. 2) BAPHOMET translates into SOPHIA which is Greek for wisdom. (Templar cypher) 3)It predates Eliphas Levi. (who was a Classically Educated defrocked priest) 4) in the Ryder-Waite Tarot (and probably the French &Venetian Tarot decks which go back to at least the 12 and 1300s) it IS the creature on the "Devil" card. 5) it exists as a Teaching Tool and a reminder of the real workings of the universe. To Discover the Secrets, you must first understand the Language in which they are written. (Symbolism) (And remember, even into the 20th century people were being killed for the knowledge it represents) ...or perhaps...driven mad... But just remember, Knowledge, is the Enemy, of Faith.

One thing you got wrong with the meaning of the Pentacles with the Baphamet which more or less itself for lack of better words means "Deep Dive." The Upright represented Death and Ascension to the Divine, and the inverted represented Birth and Descent into the Profane (the material world). Its basically a throw back to Gnosticism.

It’s about the same situation as calling Yahweh, the god of the Bible, God. Lucifer the Morning Star and supposedly what he did to the god of the Bible was seen as deceiving.

Really great video. I recently bought a baphomet statue because I appreciate the symbolism behind it. But now I'm in a spot where my children see a weird statue and they don't quite understand it. So I went to KZbin to find a video that would explain what baphomet is in a general sense and found this video. Thanks so much for making it!

Last night of occured to me that psalms is a good weapon against demons and so I started reading Psalms so last night this so called baphomet attacked me and my mother in the dream and started doing satanic ritual then I heard a voice doing an analysis on what this thing does and it said that this baphomet makes you sexually sin as a way to worship the devil so us Christians will do good works to worship God this thing does evil works to worship the devil

It appears to be a combination of two Greek words baphe and metis meaning “absorption of knowledge.” Other authors claim it is a corruption of “Mohamet” (Mohammed), but the first definition seems to be more accurate. Hollywood did a great job misrepresent this symbol as the devil. You can see this in so many horror movies. I also believe that since there are some metaphorical references in the bible(Book of Matthew and Leviticus) that the goat is evil lead to this view. Anyways great video.

Theoria is a Greek word meaning contemplation and observation. It is the origin of our word "theory," but unlike "theory," it also hints of the underlying process of forming a theory. From Chaos, Night, Darkness (Erebos), and Tartaros (You get the impression that they are many words ultimately serving as titles of One thing.), there emanates forth an "egg" in the unbounded bosom. The egg is hatched and Eros burgeons forth and with Eros the whole world we know. From the Darkness the Light is born, and then the Light is formed into our "arranged" cosmos. The "highest" in this theology would be the unbounded, primeval Darkness.

A weird fact about Baphomet, they said that their favorite band was Twenty One Pilots. Evidence: I used a pendulum and asked them a few questions at my altar, and asked if they liked the band. The pendulum went clockwise, meaning yes. I played A Car, A Torch A Death on the piano, and their candle went _crazy._

WHY MENDES? Why is the Baphomet called the Goat of Mendes? Possibilities arise: Eliphas Levi, who drew the full figured Goat of Mendes, translated "Baphomet" as a reversed composition of three abbreviations: Tem. Oph. Ab., standing for the Latin Templi omnium hominum pacis abhas (The God of) the Temple of Peace Among All Men." Levi felt this to be a reference to King Solomon's Temple, which he believed had the sole purpose of bringing peace to the world. Eliphas Lévi considered the Baphomet to be a depiction of the Absolute in symbolic form; and as such this is fully explained in the article Sigil of Baphomet sold here (see AD). According to the author Michael Howard, Levi based the illustration of his Baphomet on a Gargoyle which was on a building, the Commandry of Saint Bris le Vineux, owned by the Knights Templars: "The Gargoyle is in the form of a bearded horned figure with pendulous female breasts, wings and cloven feet. It sits in a crossed-legged position which resembles statues of the Celtic stag god, Cernnunnus or the Horned One, found in Gaul (France) before the Roman occupation." Furthermore, Eliphas Lévi, was the first person to adapt the 2 points up pentagram as symbolic of evil. In the Middle Ages the one point up pentagram represented summer, while the two points up pentagram was a representation of winter. [Note that the Eastern Star of Freemasonry uses the star with 2 points up. This is the true Pythagorean Pentacle which was considered a PENTAGONAS - meaning 5 angles. The PENTAGON in the center was a house; as such it is correct with 2 points up - and has nothing to do with the seasons. Next to the Microcosmic Man, he drew the 2 point up pentagram with the goat's head or Baphomet head in it. Samael and Lilith are written in the star, with the word Leviathan around it. In so doing, he formed, for the first time, a differentiation between good and evil symbolized by the pentagram.

Prolly won’t read this but one time baphomet came to my minds eye and I had a blockage in my gut chi zone for years that was removed upon this instance. My childlike self was also involved. In a manner in which I left behind my past hang ups as a child and became a independent man. Thank you for this video!!! I became aware of baphomet 10 years ago but was allowing too many peoples opinions and religious programming to distort the meaning of it so i kinda put Baphoment aside as a dangerous thing. Theyve been calling me for a while i think now actually, and as a misfit i for sure feel so connected to these darker gods and as i do more healing and shadow work and inner child work, i am learning to not shun parts of myself and fracture more. Like the yin yang these beautiful gods can help us unite our opposite and heal the split and restore us to wholeness haha. Its crazy how much bypassing there is in traditional spirituality and religion. Without even growing up religious i was sucked into the progranming of good vs evil... and that duality is such a trap and like u said keeps us stuck in suffering and just stagnant detached disembodied and in denial of our full truth and wholeness. I genuinely appreciate the information and it is accurate. The fear you face is the distortion you create. So if a symbol gets you worked up then it’s due to your ignorance. A symbol has many uses, one is to look at yourself and the other is a shorthand into the deeper meanings such as duality and transforming oneself into an enlightened being by integrating the shadow with the light and realizing that both are essentially the same thing.

Thank you so much honey. He came to me in a meditation and because of my strict religious upbringing, I was terrified at first. However, I am a green witch, tarot reader and have been studying all religions, philosophies and so on. Him coming to me as a diety that wanted to work with me, I am so honored now. The first thing he said to me was that he represented balance and 'as above so below' and I knew that resonated with me as the truth. However, it's hard for me to release the fear especially when I couldn't find any information on him! Not any worthwhile info anyways. So bless you for making this and including links as well! I knew he was not 'the Devil's as people want to portray. I am confused as to whether he and the Pagan god Pan/Cernunnos are the same being though. Baphomet comes from a corruption or mistranslation of Mohammad - "Mahomet" was the common European spelling of the Prophet's name in the middle ages. The first appearance of the name "Baphomet" comes from a letter of the Crusades, where "Saracens" (a medieval European term for Muslims) are described as calling the name out. The name "Baphomet" is even used in an old troubadour song "Senhors, per los nostres peccatz".
