People who make a mess of scripture seem to read about halfway through the NT and they leave out "Therefore we CONCLUDE" it's like watching half of a movie, then getting up and leaving the theater and calling it complete. . . but it's not complete... you didn't stay for the REST of the story. Rest.

Salvation is being born again ,and just as physical birth is the end result of a process, so is spiritual rebirth. Water baptism completes our repentance after we believe. John the baptist, who set the precedent for water baptism said to those repenting on the banks of the Jordan," Bring forth fruit meet for repentance"( Matt.3:18). The word "meet" in the original Greek means " that which accompanies". So repentance by a believer is incomplete if not followed by water baptism.

@@aletheia8054 Why did John the Baptist baptize? Mark 1:3-6 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all BAPTIZED OF HIM IN THE RIVER OF JORDAN, confessing their sins. Matthew 3:6,11 Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. Notice they REPENTED of sin then were Baptized in water. 11 I baptize you with water for REPENTANCE. Is it a sin if you are not baptized?
@randysanger94074 жыл бұрын
jt5747 . The thief on the cross was never baptized. But as believers, we are baptized to represent Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. We are identified with Him in this act. One should be baptized after salvation. It's a spiritual act, but you only do this in obedience. One will not go to hell if not baptized, but something significant happens when you are baptized. You actually feel like, spiritually that is, that you're being buried, and being raised from the dead. If you are not baptized you should get baptized. Any believer can baptize you. You don't have to go to a church to do it. Just find water deep enough to be totally submerged and you can be baptized. I hope this helps. It is a wonderful experience.
@davidkarr51193 жыл бұрын
Jt5747, no, it is not a sin not to be baptized in water, water batisism was for the Jews of Jesus' day as part of their salvation , not for we Gentiles! There's only one unforgiveable Sin, that is : Unbelieve in the death , burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ. ( 1 Corth 15: 1-4 ) which is the only gospel of Salvation today! That's it, that simple! Yes, that simple. Hope this helps. God Bless!

Baptism is linked to the Word of God. When Christ instituted baptism, he put the whole gift of salvation into it, as he uttered these words: "He who believes and is baptized shall be saved. Mark 16 16 1 John 5: 12 - He that hath the Son hath life; / or you could say: He that hath the Son hath the gift of salvation, that is put into baptism, if you believe. Faith does not come from yourself, but is the gift of God. You are baptism in the Spirit through hearing. Hearing the Word of God. It creates the faith in your heart. True faith is the proof of regeneration. Denying baptism proves that your faith does not stand the test.

@Vincent96445 жыл бұрын
This is false teaching. Its is true that John's Baptism was the baptized of repentance. That's why in Acts 19 they were rebaptized. Not because they didn't understand, but after Jesus death baptism carried a different significance. Johns baptism was unto repentance. But Christ Baptism wad for the remission of sin. Act 2:36-38. YES, baptism is only for believes, but believers aren't in Christ until they are baptize. Romans 6: 1-4. It wasn't until after their baptism that the were able to walk in the newness of life, because until then we are still in our sins. Acts 22:16 Arise, and be baptize and wash away thy sins. Calling on the name of the Lord.
