You're A MaskHole you’re right, but it depends on the company or franchise also it may vary by location but the restaurant I used to work at almost all higher management was kinda old and haven’t really worked at the store to realized the store they worked before isn’t the same now. Special now with growing menus , coupons and promotions. And the high demand for speed of service and customer service to be impeccable and and Many still pay crap.

Excellent video! Really enjoyed listening to your experiences with fast food management. Very insightful and articulate.

As much as I can add on and have been at 4 different fast food restaurants sometimes the stress can take a toll on management and something I have personally experienced is if that management has their own personal issue with the stuff going on in store sometimes will take it out on the employees, which is something that I just hate about the job. No position in store is good in my personal opinion.

I agree with you when you say take a employee under your wing to guide them to success i hate to see a hard work in the same position for 100 years

Customer challenge is always there. I was expecting you to talk about supplies, stock, keeping machine clean. Machine repair or replace machine. Menu change how that affect the order. Advertisement in the store. Replace items on menu or out of stock or discontinue items on the menu. Causes of sales being down because you see a changes in atmosphere.

I see you didn't want to mention the restaurant you worked for. I have no problems mentioning a name for when I worked at one: Taco Bell (company owned), but it was a long time ago. Back then, managers and assistant managers came and went (most were fired). The company didn't care much about them, and they sure were taken advantage of. They were salaried, so they were working really long hours and being paid for 40. I could go on forever about what I saw for the 1 1/2 years I worked for them. Almost all is bad. Being a manager at such a place is not a career. It can't be. You just won't last. One thing my experience taught me is this is not a career, and it isn't for me. Maybe if one can make it to working at corporate headquarters, that is a career, but you have more of a chance of winning the lottery than making it that far. Anyway, I left and have done quite well since.

Already feel like I can't do this anymore, and I was hired as a manager just three weeks ago! I did one full year as a worker at Burger King and this is already very stressful to me. I'm just pulling through right now and hoping that I am able to complete my goal, but honestly, it just feels like I'm trapped and this is not the future I imagined for myself thus far. Having a job like this is something that is purely motivational for the future, man.

@@seanpule266 Being that you already worked at a Burger King for a year, you already have an excellent idea how things work in fast food. It certainly isn't for everyone, including me. If you're in your 20's, you can tolerate the demands, along with eating all those free Whoppers without getting ill. But think about what you want to do in your 30's, 40's, 50's, etc. You'll probably want a career, and not standing and hustling all day in a fast food restaurant. There are a few people out there that actually love this type of work (I have a relative who just loves delivering fast food), but that's a sliver of the people in this industry. With me, after Taco Bell, I finished college, eventually got into I.T., and make a decent living. When I look back at Taco Bell (my only fast food job), for every job I've had since, it was the job I physically did the most work, and got paid the least. Let's face it, compensation isn't calculated by how many tacos or burgers you can make in one hour, but on things like how complex your job is, and to a smaller extent how profitable you are. Stuff like I.T., accounting, law, and so on, is complex. Flipping burgers isn't. Management could be considered complex, but people up in the corporate office might think you just need to follow directions, so they continue paying managers far less than they're worth. I won't get into how I think about corporate office "big shots," but it isn't great. Good luck.

I worked at a warehouse job; I got tired of being treated like a number so I left it to become more my own boss. I really want to go into food management to get more money or start my own business.

I have worked at several fast food restaurants,but no manager experiences,if I go back and reapply at one of those restaurants or at any fast food restaurant for a shift manager position,would they hire me?
@ShaunteaChanel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Frenecia! Thanks for your comment. That's all dependent on the restuarant and management. My advice would be to go back or start as a regular team member and let management know that you are interested in moving up. Learn as much as you can from a current member of management about the role and responsibilities. Find out if there is a leadership program and find out what you need to participate. Good luck to you!

Can you be a manager without a ged or hs diploma ?
@ShaunteaChanel5 жыл бұрын
That depends on the company
@ralphschraven3393 жыл бұрын
There are many things relevant to predicting job performance. What's your resume, who are you, why don't you have that diploma? Are you well-spoken, intelligent, but through some misfortune didn't get your diploma, and decided to go a different direction? Or are you simply unmotivated, undisciplined, uneducated? Of course, having credentials always beats not having any, but if you're a star employee with leadership skills and a solid resume, not many companies will throw you under the bus for lacking that diploma, in my short experience.

Something they call for the most stupid thing, there was this costumer that called us becasue his tortillas were cold, honestly I didn’t know what to tell him without make him mad, but in my mind I was like, don’t you can just reheat them? I guess he read my thoughts because automatically said, I guess I just have to reheat them myself I just told him I’m sorry sr, I’ll take care of that he just hang out
