I fully agree with you, Raven is a complex character, I’ve found that every time I take a break from him getting back is painful, this I believe is because his moves and setups are very crafty. I must also say that he is an exciting character to play once you are in sync with him!

Im at tekken king with raven. Hes capable but the problem with all ravens is you NEED to know your matchups. There is no God buttons for him. Only risky mixups. Which is fine but give us back the hellsweeps from master raven and the backturn grabs

For many characters you can get around using 5 moves. With Raven you might as well just resign if you're gonna use under 20.

@@Kjernekar Raven players who aggressive players are like real miracle workers, cuz i dont have confidence to be that aggressive. But also I still have T7 mindset. The best thing ive learned is to not waste heat. Use every safe move in the book to chip away at your opponent.

I am stuck at Tekken King / Emperor with Raven. At this rank you have to play very very safe. And it can be very boring with an exiting character like Raven. Waiting for some more buffs. Dude still needs some love.

Just took Raven to Raijin after some months without playing him... Play him again was like starting again from the beginning! You really need to be quick thinking, especially when you are in Backturn cuz you don't wanna be stuck in that stance

I agree with you on that. That is why this is the first tekken where I haven't even bothered picking up a secondary character yet. There is too much to optimize, learn, discover, and improve on with my Raven game right now. Even after 8 months I have felt no urge to commit back to Hwoarang or Paul. I've gone through their move list maybe once played a handful of online matches back in February but that's it. Other than that it's been Raven all the way for me. He's too dope! 😊

Hell yeah raven is the dopest in t8 but not optimized for Tekken 8 like the other characters. Didn’t like the fact sz is locked on certain moves

T8 is my first tekken game and i chose raven because hes got flow. The fact that his gameplan is so different to the rest of the cast has made learning him kind of difficult, but your videos give me a lot of tricks i try to implement

He is so frustrating to main because it feels like he gets punished for sooo much. I was Tekken king.. I took a break and was playing SF6. When I came back after a few weeks I got SMOKED!!!! Back to Bushin now

As everyone (and yourself) stated, Raven is a character that requires full commitment to play him to his full capacity. He is not a beginner character, so he does have a learning barrier to get though, and unless you stick with learning all his tricks, you WILL be in for a bad time.

Nemy you the nail on the head brother. Its bad news when you get rusty as a Raven main. All the points you mentioned is the same reason I’m a little reluctant in playing my sub characters now that I’ve hit Supreme rank with Raven.

OMG This is exactly what happened to me too. I felt that I was getting good at my pocket char then went back to raven and Im bodied all the time. I thought that maybe everyone knows the raven match up and I have to mix it up again. Turns out, you cant leave this character in the closet. You really have to BE a RAVEN specialist. ( well not really haha ) but i get the point of this video.
