You just let the diplomatic mission know and they will get the papers ( passport, citizenship ) ready for the baby. Citizenship is based on the parents status, regardless of the soil. A14 covers that. ... subject to the jurisdiction of ... the parents passport accords them and children born to them, the protections, rights and privileges of the US. It's sad that a law made for freed slaves and their children is so misused and abused by random foreign nationals who want to use the US as an economic zone, and get undeserved benefits. Entitlement and citizenship are two different things.

I am a U.S. citizen, my child was born in China when I worked there. To get his U.S. citizenship, I have to prepare all kinds of documents, especially proof that I have been living in the U.S. at least 5 years before the baby's birthday. However, many many Chinese women just visit U.S. to give birth their kids and get citizenship immediately. It is an apparent discrimination to U.S. citizen's family 😮

It’s called birth tourism. This is widely accepted during Biden administration. Pregnant women (6-7 month pregnant ) arrive to the US ( LA, Las Vegas, New York. .. etc mainly sanctuary cities) and pay in between $15000 to $20000. It covers medical providers app, renting a room, food for about 2 months. The tourist then can apply for the US passport for their baby afterward. This strategy or loophole is exploited by tourists from China, South America and from Middle East. No tax collected because this is all cash business. No wonder we have “american citizens” whom do not give their allegiance to our country. They all live overseas with their US passport. Usually these kids are sent back to the US to enjoy our free education and welfare system.

That's exactly how birthright citizenship is applied. To children who were born to *legal immigrants* or US citizens. Please refer to "a 6-2 decision issued on March 28, 1898, the Supreme Court Wong Kim Ark" that determined that he can claim his birthright citizenship BECAUSE his parents were *legal permanent US residents*. Therefore the birthright citizenship does not apply to the children born to parents who are illegally in the country. That's why people who are illegally in US are eligible for extradition in case they commit a crime. They are citizens of their country of origin and are NOT *"subject to the jurisdiction thereof"*.

Birth Right Citizenship is a major loophole illegals have been using for decades. It's an issue that worsened after Roland Regan signed an immigration bill that changed the political identity and radically changed California. California was primarily a thriving Republican state before the immigration bill, after California became a permanent Democrat state and has gone downhill since then. My grandparents (mixed Indigenous-Pima/Mexican/Spanish) were born in the Arizona territory in late 1860’s but with Mexican citizenship. My father was born in 1924 with US citizenship. The 14th amendment was for freed slaves and their children . Of the 31 developed nations, only TWO countries (Canada and the USA) have been given the right of citizenship for birth. That is, countries like: AUSTRALIA, GERMANY, FRANCE, JAPAN, ITALY, POLAND, etc., DO NOT give citizenship for birth. The US Constitution was written approximately 240 years ago under a different reality, so it must be MODIFIED according to the REALITY and current needs of the country. Many pregnant women come as TOURISTS and give birth in this country where they DO NOT pay for hospitalization, and even more so when their children reach the age of 21, they come to the USA and bring their PARENTS with them so they can receive help to care for the elderly. If you are not prosecuted for committing crimes and given sanctuary, then you are not subject to laws of the jurisdiction. The constitution clearly states that You must be subject to the laws of this jurisdiction if you are to have constitutional rights. The fact that illegal immigrants weren't prosecuted for their illegal entry and given the privilege of sanctuary is proof that they are not privy to the rights of the Constitution and therefore their children do not have birthright citizenship. Birthright citizenship can only be given to those who are subjected to the law of the land like the rest of us.
