This is the first clip I see in this channel. People who interview should watch Mr Willow and take notes. He never interrupted, he let the guest finish and even when it looked Mr Morgan was done. He then would attempt to ask the next question. But he realized that Mr Morgan was just having a pause and continuing. Then Mr Willow would stop and let him finish. Very good interviewer.

this is really interesting. It kind of makes sense that Bruce originally chose the jumpsuit to be black because the yellow seems like such a radical change from the traditional dark blue Chinese costumes he wore in the previous three films, so it seems natural that Bruce's first inclination was to wear the black jumpsuit and have a more moderate change. I think it would've looked incredibly cool, I wonder if its in the archives anywhere?

Well, i am not 100% sure but if i remember right, Morgan stated in an other interview the black jumpsuit was navy blue and Lee used it in "Enter the Dragon", here: image.made-in-china.com/2f0j00GCwTFeMzZIkU/Bruce-Lee-Classic-Black-Jumpsuit-Siamese-Enter-the-Dragon-Costume.jpg Maybe he didnt remember here in this interview the black (navy blue) didnt have yellow stripes on the side. Of course i am only guessing here, but its possible this dark jumpsuit from "Enter the Dragon" was the one he wanted first for "Game of Death". @@leoyu2142 Sure. But i would say a yellow with black bars suits a woman better (like Uma Thurman), while a black with yellow bars fits better to a man. But thats only my opinion. I was always after such a jumpsuit and i bought 2-3 over the last 15 years. Since i know now he wanted a black with yellow bars first, and if i would today chose between the two models, i would also prefer a black jumpsuit with yellow bars for myself, only because those colors (much black, less yellow) are imo cooler for a man.

According to bio of Bruce, he bought the yellow jumpsuit while having a trip with Roman Polanski at Sweden. If you’ve seen the movie game of death which was completed, one of the thugs who rode motorcycles, I saw one of them wearing black one with yellow bars, I guess that should be the one.

Morgan, I’ve been a huge Bruce Lee fan since I was a little kid, I always watch your videos interviewing lot of celebrities when I’m working, they’ve enhanced my knowledge about Hong Kong movies in their prime & lots of trivia which many people might’ve neglected. Andre Morgan is a legend! What a fascinating life having worked with Raymond Chow during the golden years of Golden Harvest, he was there when Angela Mao, Bruce Lee, Wang Yu and Jackie Chan were at their prime! What baffles me is that I always thought that Bruce Lee designed the outfit personally to represent not being “bound” by the classical mess. My question for Mr. Morgan is: were both suits the creation of the wardrobe man? That’s what it sounds like here so I’m curious as to it’s “origin.” Bruce wore the traditional Kung Fu uniform in 4 of his 5 major films (with the exception of Enter The Dragon where he also wore his “James Bond” style tracksuit for the night scene) so was it the wardrobe man’s idea to wear a tracksuit for Game of Death? Black or yellow? Thank you in advance.

Very interesting...Could be interesting to know why was he wear 2 different kind of yellow shoes...in the first and third floor he wear a pair of Panther and in the second floor he wear a pair of Moonstar Jaguar...

It’s usually something very logical that makes a person decide on one thing over the other. Like James Dean wore a red jacket in Rebel because the black faded into the darkness in the night scenes and the red stood out. Not because it represented the violence.

Bruce wore a RED jump suit in Longstreet. And a Black one in Enter. Maybe if he was to make one more movie, his next jump suit would have been Red,White and Blue Like, Evil Knievel and Elvis.

I totally believe and accept this account as to why Bruce's suit was yellow but what about the matching nunchucks and sneakers? Did he ALSO have black versions of those as well? Or were those created/picked out *after the change of jumpsuit?

Bruce Lee’s Game of Death plan did center around the fighting in the tower, but the setup was different. Based on what is known about the story, the sister of Lee’s character was to be kidnapped by Korean gangsters. They used her to force the hero to enter a five-level tower and retrieve a particular item, though what this was has never been revealed. To retrieve it, he had to progress through all five levels of the tower, with each one being guarded by a martial artist of a different style. It’s not clear what would have happened once he got the item, but it can be assumed that the movie would have ended with him beating the Korean crime boss and saving his sister...I Personally Thought The Jump Suit Was So Ridiculous That Lee May Have Used It As The Calm Before The Storm Before Retrieving The Item And Having The Showdown With The Korean Crime Boss....The Item Being Lee's Traditional Trade Mark Suit....Imagine The Roar Of Approval As Lee Enters The Location Dressed In His Wing Chun Ready For The Showdown..........A Possibility?..........The Yellow Jump Suit Being Discarded For The REAL STUFF ....The Black Nunchucks Possibly Being Taken From The Crime Boss And Demonstrated Upon On Him With Lethal Consequence...Lee And His Sister Walking Off Into Their New Life....It Has To Be His Iconic Wing Chun Suit....No Gimmicks........Warners Knew It....And Most Of All Bruce Knew It.....The Bruce Lee Vision.....And The Dynamite Underneath.

I’ve doubts about this theory here. Bruce lee went all out to craft the storyline and sequences for this movie only to have his most iconic outfit decided by the wardrobe unit? Nah. I think the speculations with regards to him being yellow and free seemed more legit.
