The TRUTH about INDIA'S LARGEST SLUM | Dharavi, Mumbai धारावी स्लम मुंबई 🇮🇳

India is a mighty and diverse country, and no city represents this contrast more than Mumbai. Having been impressed by the modern and affluent South, I felt a duty to explore the opposite extreme in Dharavi, India's largest slum.
As with all of my videos, I look to share my encounters with local people and get a better understanding of the truth of what life is really like in these communities. This has invariably led me to some of the friendliest and most generous people, and my hope is always to show goodness and capture things in a positive light.
Despite the apparent challenges that Dharavi faces, the truth is that this place is full of incredibly humble and hardworking people, trying to make a living like anyone else. With a population of approximately 1 million contributing to a 1 billion dollar economy, this is far from a tale of pity.
I was blown away by the sense of community and how welcome I was made to feel as an outsider, and at no point did I feel threatened in the imposing surroundings of India's largest slum. Rather, I left with a deep appreciation for the endeavour of the people - from recycling the city's plastic to assembling suitcases - and a better understanding of the contrast between rich and poor in this enormous and diverse country.
(I have been mindful to show the truth behind India's largest slum without depicting Dharavi as being representative of the entire country. I'm sure that I'll still get such comments from some of you, but I do not feel that I can explain my intentions any more clearly).
