The MDS lifters are not the reason for lifter failure. You see lifter failure on non-mds lifters in manual Challengers as well. While the MDS lifters can fail sooner, it is not the lifter themselves that are the problem. The problem is due to the factory oil pump not having enough oil pressure at idle. This is why Police cruisers and fleet vehicles are notorious for lifter failure due to high idle times. The only was to correct this problems with a Hellcat oil pump or a high volume oil pump. The Hellcat lifters are no different than the regular non-mds lifters.

What shorty headers you use for the 5.7 jeep grand cherokee? Does cats and mid pipe stay stock? Mds and vvt both go away? Any codes show up during emissions testing?

Hellcat lifters are just non-mds lifters which is what every stick car comes with. The "better" style lifters he refers to have an oiling "pin hole" on the side of the body of the lifters.

Those yellow things on the front bumper are only for vehicle shipping to protect the paint. Leaving them on is like leaving the foam packaging on a new TV.

The MDS vs Non-MDS failures are more of a wash, it's more of a QA issue, better materials should have been used in making the Mopar lifters. I've seen about an equal number of both failing.

We offer the cam only portion of the package as well. However the headers and cold air intake make a big difference with the cam. You have to remember, the cam adds more airflow, and it requires more air to come in, and leave the engine. That’s where the cold air intake and headers come into play.

@@FastLanePerformance gotcha. I have a 2018 Ram with 6.4 hemi with 44k miles and I can start to hear a tick. I have changed the oil every 3k and used Amsoil. I would want a high volume oil pump installed at the same time to improve oil flow.
