The little bananas are called ‘oritos’. And by the way, we don’t say resaca; ‘chuchaqui’ is the word you’re looking for. Good description of my country however! 😎🇪🇨

Thank you sir. Very honest and respectful. Next time try to visit the countryside Manabi and hang out in Manta/Montecristi. You will enjoy the beach tropical areas in Manta. In Montecristi is more suburban, hang out for a bit at the Plaza.

I am Ecuadorian and live in the US. I am also a Spanish Teacher and I am from LA SIERRA. It's funny because the people from La Sierra have a hard time understanding people from the Coast because they talk so fast and blend in all the words together. This is the first time I hear someone saying that is harder to understand someone from La Sierra.

Very interesting and mostly accurate description of some places of my country, specially Guayaquil. True, we are very hospitable and open with foreigners. About our food, I see that you don't mention our delicious shirimp, for example, and very menay other foods and fruits. Our food is very varied because of the differente climates. We don't eat as much bananas in Quito as in the coast. You have to taste our potato soup or or potato tortillas. In the Andean region, our way of speaking is influenced by Kichwa, a very beautiful native language (one of the 17 native languages in Ecuador). By the way, "chevere" comes from Caribbean slang, and "bacán" from "lunfardo", an Argentinean slang. The word "resaca" comes from Colombian slang, not from any native language, and our word for "hangover" is "chuchaqui". Welcome to Ecuador, come back as soon as the pandemia is over!
