Hey please let me share this, let me get this out. My whole life, I was never there. I'm just a ghost running scared ( tstm reference lol). I had anxiety maybe I still do and I regret it. I was really scared and probably too insecure and I let that get in the way of making a good new reputation. I got too divulged in my insecurities. High school wasn't very fun. Our school had lots of fun activities and I didn't join in. Guess what? now that I'm going to college, I don't know if I'll be able to make friends, with people judging us by our social media profiles which in fact I didn't have. I tried making one but no one knows me. I wasn't significant. Now if I have to talk to my younger self I'll rant the stupid insecurity out my shitty head. I regret things. I've watched countless "how to survive college" videos and God help me. sorry if I'm not making any sense.

I completely understand where your coming from. All my life, my twin and I have been hiding behind the screen and barely going out to do things differently and meeting new people. It's not that we don't want to, it's just the fact that we think people would judge us based on our appearance or we're just afraid to start a conversation. But honestly, one day we just have to keep our heads high and try. That's why, when I start my first day of school tomorrow, I'm going to try meeting new people and joining clubs during the welcome back barbecue because I have learned that there are people out there that are just as nervous and scared and I could possibly helped that person feel comfortable and secure in an environment that we both may be new to. I guess, all I'm trying to say is, when the time comes you'll learn to overcome your anxieties. I guess it took me a little longer to do that, but there is never a wrong time to make a change in yourself. And also people on here don't really have a friendship type of bonding thing but, I would be more then happy to become friends with anyone. Just a sweet hello. :D

I believe a lot of people talk up the fact they have social anxiety when in fact they really don't. The same thing goes with depression. Unless this girl went through a major metamorphosis from a complete loner/loser to a complete opposite and essentially a KZbin star with possibly many friends, I highly doubt this girl knows what true social anxiety and loneliness is. If you are able to be successful in work (yes that does include putting time into editing and making successful KZbin videos), have good relationships, and can complete daily life tasks with a fair amount of ease, then you don't have social anxiety.

I tried talking to like 4 people because we were part of a group. At first we all talked but then they talked amongst themselves and didn't really involve me into their convo. So I was thinking. "ok...what now..?" I really don't know what happened.

Sometimes our mind makes us believe that we aren't apart of the group anymore because they have kind of made you feel left out. But you can always change the conversation and let them realize that you are still apart of the group. Don't be afraid to speak up. ^_^

I agree with what you said about being yourself! People are drawn to confidence and you're most confident when you feel most like yourself! I also agree that you can meet people anywhere! Everyone is looking for new friends so just keep that in mind. Also, no one is going to flat out reject you so no worries on that front! Lastly, getting a meal somewhere...dining hall, starbucks, campus town, etc. Is a really low key way to get to know someone! Good luck with school guys!! Also, Caitlin, what's your major?

An astronomy class was totally the best way to make friends I've ever experienced ... I started dating 2 chicks from the same class (I've never done that in my life) and made 5 solid friends over a single semester... I finally said Fuck it, I'm done being afraid.. What's worse than being alone, is being surrounded by people who Make you feel alone. So you just gotta say fuck it, put yourself out there, voice what you love, what your amazed by (stars, scale of the universe, all that), and what you can't stand about the world (evil people in power)... You are bound to have people love you for YOU, because you give them Permission to be themselfes too. So right now, if things are Bad (I was in the worse place of my life)... Die to your old self, say no pain of the past comes with me, I am new, I am fucking awesome, I am a blank slate, and finding my Tribe is my birth right. I remember being in community college for one semester and during the first few months, I had no friends at all. It was weird and scary at the same time! Then later during the semester I made friends with one girl in my English class right away and I'm still friends with her to this day. I agree with what you said, Caitlin! Good video.

make sure you understand what it is you really want, do you want people to call your friends or do you just "want friends" . Meditate on whether or not you are lonely or if you think you should have friends to fulfill the social requirement of having friends. Dont embrace being alone out of some high school edgy mindset of refusing to admit you feel lonely because "Im not meant for other pople" or "I dont belong anywere", if you truly dont ,dont but do not let others guilt trip you into into a feeling you dont really have.

I don't know if all colleges are like this, but I met a girl through my sorority this year from Brazil and we all love her. She has a very thick accent and still lives there on breaks from school, but everyone at my school is super accepting. I'm actually living with her next year! I think most American students would be interested in learning about a different culture, you should go for it!

I'm from Canada, but a semester is half your school year. If you are in a 4 year study then Freshman is 1st year, sophomore is 2nd, junior is 3rd and senior is 4th.
