For much of the 1980s, NBC's Must See TV Thursday night lineup blew whatever the other networks had going on that night out of the water with 4 classic comedies - "The Cosby Show" followed by "Family Ties" then "Cheers," and lastly, the one this video will be highlighting, "Night Court." Night Court premiered on January 4, 1984 and ran for nine seasons, ending on May 31, 1992. It followed an eccentric cast of defendants, bailiffs, and public defenders during the night shift of a Manhattan municipal court presided over by a young, unorthodox judge named Harold "Harry" T. Stone, played by Harry Anderson. He's the moral center of the show, with a screwball sense of humor, a love of magic tricks, classic films, and the music of Mel Tormé.

Fact: Mr John.... I was living in Vegas at the time, and I was downtown in Old vegas. I believe I was working for a travel company and there was this man with all this white hair which was beautiful. Mr . John came out of a certain casino and it's like a whole bunch of people recognize him. And he seemed like he was in shock, but was really cool about it.

I miss sitcoms and their catchy theme songs. All of the main stars were so talented they were blessed with careers outside of the hit sitcom Night Court. I feel for Marsha Warfield and John Laroquette since they're the last of the remaining original cast. ❤

One of the best sitcoms of the 1980s... and in my personal Top 10 sitcoms of all time. Harry Anderson 😇, John Larroquette, Richard Moll 😇, Charles Robinson 😇, Selma Diamond 😇, Markie Post 😇, Charlotte Portney 😇, Marsha Warfield and Dorothy Andrews (the cashier) all made their characters come to life. John Larroquette as Dan Fielding... wow 🤯 IYKYK 😉lol. I had forgotten that the late great and beautiful Paula Kelley 😇was on the show (season 1 only). Most likely some more actors that played a role in the series that I have overlooked as well.

Night Court was the first show I ever got because of humor. You know how it is,at 4 you are rolling because watching Benny Hill chasing those women sped up is the funniest thing that can ever happen. Night Court I got the jokes, the innuendos etc etc. What the heck more of a last episode did people want? I have been hearing this for years. Mac left to go to film school,Christine was elected Senator and moved to Albany,Dan decided to follow her to try to win her affection, and Bull went to Jupiter. That sounds like a last episode to me. What would they have had that 10th season with only Harry and Roz there?

The moment that John Larroquette's character Dan went from being a serious character to the sitcom equivalent of the 2 Live Crew, that's when Night Court hit its' stride. Also, Harry's beef with Barry Manilow is also a highlight.
