LL, at that time, became a mainstream darling, the big buff safe black man- he was in a lot of movies, guest starred in many series.. still making hits with music, his celebrity allowed him to dodge a loss in a rap battle vs Canibus.. add the fact he was a star since he was a teenager in hip hop- I can only imagine how inflated his ego was, looked down at everyone else… until those rumors started coming out, he kinda faded into the background..that’s when The Rock started becoming a star in wrestling.. then you had Debo, and Chris Tucker.. the entire black comedy wave flooding the scene., younger rappers.. Will Smith becoming an actual talent on the acting scene.. LL faded completely away

Yeah, like I said on the Eve video, rappers always got their own show so idk why she got dragged… I rewatched this recently & didn’t remember the earlier seasons from my childhood. It was obvious that they went a different direction after the 2nd season. After rewatching it, I like how he was a positive guy and very spiritual, the other shows weren’t like that! He turned a bad experience into something positive AND he learned to make it elsewhere once his dreams were shattered. Another thing I noticed, which wasn’t addressed here is that this MUST’VE been a spin off of Fresh Prince, initially. Because Alfonso appeared as Carlton first, even Ashley was on there. I can see that they tried to make that connection but probably just dropped it. The set looks exactly like Fresh Prince too, even the ugly first seasons mirror each other 😂 I was even thinking that Tiffany reminded me of Ashley, then Ashley appeared on an episode lol.
