Your story isn't unique in that every couple struggles in big and small ways. But I'm very, very grateful that you two have shared YOUR story. THAT IS unique because we get to see how you two - two totally unique people and a completely unique couple - have persevered. And that's the key word: You're choosing to persevere and push through the hardships and to honor God and honor your vows. I was very, very scared when I saw your headline to this video because I was afraid for you both...that this was an ending to something beautiful. I shall remember you both in my prayers and I encourage you both to keep Jesus at the VERY FRONT of your marriage. That'll make all the difference. Thank you for your honesty. Even if you didn't put another video out, Mike, I'd be OVERJOYED knowing you two are still together. With all my heart, I love you both and I thank you for the joy you two have given us with your music and your honesty. GOD BLESS YOU!

@@MikeTompkins You're very welcome, Mike. We would never see an end to this comment of mine if I tried to explain all the things that I adore about your music career and you, personally. How you have kept your performances (and music covers) clean and appropriate so that virtually everyone can enjoy what you do (heck, if I had kids, I'd let them watch your stuff without any fears they'd see something they shouldn't!). You have been humble at all times and always ready with friendship and compassion to those around - certainly as far as I have witnessed. It's very clear to me that you love your wife and that she loves you. That's to be celebrated (you know the "friends" in the Song Of Solomon book in the Bible? I like to think I'd be among those "friends" who celebrate the Lover and the Beloved...who celebrate you and your wife). With that, let me encourage you further with a couple of songs: "Begin Again" by Jason Gray kzbin.info/www/bejne/mITOqKxod8yNkM0 "Broken Together by Casting Crowns kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHKkp4N6nLCZaZI - With love, Michael Miler Jr

Oh wow. We really had no idea. Thank you so much for your courage to share this with us. I know I am so happy that you both were able to fight for each other and are happy together. It gives me joy and hope. When I see you both, over the years, I’ve always thought “relationship goals” if I ever found someone and fell in love, I wanted what you both have (what we saw and assumed) but this, what you shared and have done, that’s what I want. Thank you both for everything you have done and shared with us. You’re amazing and strong and even as strangers, we’re family too. God bless you both and your boys ❤️

Very powerful. I particularly appreciated the points you made that once you were free to communicate because you were at your lowest (and breaking) point, that's when things started to improve. The importance of communication in a relationship and living in truth with your significant other CANNOT be overstated. I also really appreciated how you said your passion became your identity, and that was a part of the problem. Everyone is more than their passions, but its so easy to lose yourself in them. Glad you two weathered the storm. Hopefully the skies are mostly clear ahead

Our faith in God has really kept us together bc my husband and I had both gotten into those hard points as well.. “maybe we’d be happier if we just divorce”. I give God all the glory for the restoration in our marriage, we’re still together and continue to become stronger. Marriage is definitely not always romance, the right words said, and dates. Sure, there’s some of that in the mix, but it’s kindness, it’s learning how to be more selfless, forgiving. Learning what love really is. I pray so hard for all the married couples out there, keep fighting the good fight 💗

Great video! Glad you two are evolving on that next level, that family level. It's great you two want to push for that passion, but know family is important so if you must take a break. Marriage is about compromise and working together, don't loose that. Pray for you two and your family.

Being with any other person constantly is a challenge. Add to that the idea that the other person is Special, you made a commitment and life was to be "happily ever after". But marriage is not as promoted as this magical, blissful world of two people always in sync. That was only in the 50's TV shows. In reality, each brings baggage and expectations into the marriage. Each react differently as things happen in your lives. A successful marriage probably requires some of the hardest work of any activity you might do. And, it is difficult for a marriage to survive! The fact you have your faith to help ground you, to know, since we were forgiven by God, and marriage is blessed by Him, how much more should we follow that example to not let things get in the way of being a loving family. It's fantastic you realized the importance of working on it instead of taking the easy way out and giving up. May God bless you both and help you on your journey together. Dave

That which God has brought together, let no man separate. Huge props to the two of you for finding yourselves amidst all the craziness, life has dealt to you both great adversity and from what I see in both of you is a tried and true example of Godly love. Divorce can present itself a temptation to couples that lose their ways with one another, you assume that happiness is no longer possible with your spouse, that the issues you both face are greater than how you feel for one another. That is the great destroyer of marriages, forgetting what love really is, it isn't the warmth in your heart when you see or think of them, it's not the rush you feel when you kiss or hug them. Instead it's the decisions you make everyday that effect them and yourself, knowing you two are no longer separate beings but now one in the sight of God, it's the character you build in yourself with a focus on principles of care, selflessness, and charity. We often get caught up in life trying to be successful or in achieving something we desperately want that we forget all these things, who we are, why we are really here. Look to the one you love and imagine your life without them, not focusing on the things you may find annoying or negative about them, but think back to a day early in your relationship and focus on what you were thinking then, all those things you saw in them that made them so desirable to you, the smile that put light into your soul or the laugh that turned the worst days into good ones. You might think all the things you loved about them then are now gone but they are still there trapped behind the struggles that are hurting your marriage and causing you to lose focus. Remember all the good little things that sparked in you your desire for them, focus on growing the characteristics of love for them, and put them above life's obligations that either kept you from or growing your love for them in the first place. Above all, do all these things for God, and all things will work together for your good. Praying for you two, and I wish you truly all the best.
