Patsy was my favorite outside of the main cast. He was cool, calm, collected, and basically the strong silent type Tony always strived to be. Even Vito playing for the other side didn’t even bother him because he knew how much Vito was bringing in since he was doing their books. Wouldn’t surprise me if he leads things in Jersey after the final episode.

Patsy gets the ultimate revenge. NY probably appoints him as head of NJ when they absorb the Pygmy thing, not the walking blunder Paulie. So he takes Tony’s status. But what I haven’t seen mentioned is how he also absorbs Tony’s family into his own with Meadow marrying in and AJ on his way to being a soldier in Jason’s crew. In the end, the Strong Silent Type causes Tony’s head to literally explode and takes everything that was his save for Carmela and her big house with the pool.

I don't think Patsy was behind Tony's death, but I think the way Tony treated him was a big part of why New York removed Tony. We got caught up in Tony's main character syndrome, but you could see the resentment of his crew building out of focus throughout the seasons if you look for it. They were loyal, but weren't happy with his leadership. Tony was all about Tony and didn't really give a damn if the people under him were doing well or not. It caught up with him in the end. The successful bosses, the Carmines, knew they had to keep their people fat and happy.

Personally, I don't buy into the idea that Patsy wacked Tony. While Patsy definitely still held animosity towards Tony, I saw his smugness towards the end more so that Tony was forced to respect by Italian customs. As far as motives, by that point Patsy had no real reason to kill Tony, as aside from Paulie he was essentially the de facto Underboss of the family. The only reason he would have Tony wacked at that point would be to seize power, but that doesn't really fit with his character from my perspective.
@noodle123ify
@noodle123ify Күн бұрын
I'm with you. In fact, Patsy never had more opportunity for power (under Tony) in the series than by the last episode - most of Tony's main guys were gone, and Patsy's son was about to marry Tony's daughter. Tony was likely to lean on Patsy heavily.

@STONESGAM
@STONESGAM 7 күн бұрын
I thought Don Grimaldi played Patsy very realistically. I would have liked to see him get a little more screen time. I don't think he was involved in whacking Tony at the end I truly think it was New York and payback for the Phil hit which Butch said "do what you've got to do" but it probably didn't sit well with the other families having Phil get whacked that way in front of his wife and grandkid at a gas station. So I think taking Tony out was okay'd and then they just considered it a wash and started over with a new regime. I think New York probably just absorbed the remainder of the Soprano Crew or more likely installed someone as boss and kind of called the shots over NJ at that point. Where NJ was kind of a satellite of the Lupertazzi Family or had a weak boss who gave New York favorable deals on their joint Construction projects. I honestly think Patsy just kind of accepted his brothers death eventually and realized it was part of the life they chose.
@coyotemojo
@coyotemojo 7 күн бұрын
I think the lack of screen time was intentional. There's a subplot of a collective growing resentment towards Tony that Chase intentionally left out of focus. Small things minor characters say or do while Chase kept us focused on the drama of Tony's inner circle. I agree that New York was behind Tony's death, but I bet they made sure Patsy and Pauly would be ok with it before they did it. I think Little Carmine was the architect and came back to run the NY family after Phil and Tony were out of the picture.
@STONESGAM
@STONESGAM 7 күн бұрын
@@coyotemojo I disagree about Little Carmine after seeing Johnny Sack go to prison. I think he wanted to make his money but stay somewhat below the radar in Florida. He seemed to have a nice home life and I think he was over wanting to be in charge and be a much bigger target for Law Enforcement. I think Butch took over he seemed to be a real gangster and like somebody who wanted to be in charge.

Everyone keeps saying he’s loyal but why? Hes literally shown no signs of it. He wanted to kill Tony in a drunken rage and tried instigating Albert when talking about Ralph. “If it can happen to him, it can happen to any of us.” Also when he was making collections he was mad at Tony for selling the shop as he walked out he said “it’s over for the little guy.” Fueling more anger. Theirs not a single scene where he went above and beyond to prove he liked Tony at all just followed orders that’s not loyalty that’s his job.

I never found Patsy even remotely intimidating. Anybody can seem intimidating when that someone is sticking a loaded gun in someone else's chest. Anybody can look tough while sucker assaulting someone with a metal pipe. I'd bet money that construction worker would beat Patsy into the dirt in a real fight. I always laughed whenever Paulie or someone else from the crew would have Patsy as his back-up during some shakedown. I laughed even harder when he and one of his colleagues tried to squeeze the manager of a franchised business. The manager certainly didn't look intimidated as he explained the facts of corporate life to these two so-called gangsters. To my eyes, Patsy was nothing more than a short, balding and embittered wannabe whose only usefulness was that of an accountant.

Some.middle-tier guy in NY? And what will his son and Meadow think about that? At the end, Little Carmine is de facto running NY, and there's no way he's sanctioning a hit on Tony. And Patsy is not going to do anything unsanctioned, I guarantee you that. Don't even bring up his brother. He put his grief behind him.

I think at the end Patsy would probably be underboss if Tony was killed and Paulie would become the boss of the DiMeo

i always liked patsy if were to pick 2 members of the sopranos to be in my crime family (if i had one) it would definitely be silvio and patsy

At the beginning of a war, Silvio put his gun in the backseat. Sil was a great peacetime consigliare, but clearly not a wartime one.

No no.. Theory does not drink water. You explained everything in the video.. Daughter and son. They seriously bite.. That's how it's presented. the nature of the path led him to administration. top 5, you can even say top 3 at that moment.. Why would you risk everything.. But if the commission in New York were to convict Tony of murder... Unfortunately Gandolfini passed away, I'm sure the series would have had a few more seasons. After a 5.6 year break

when a man and a woman get married, their respective fathers are not considered brother-in-laws to each other. Instead, they become co-fathers-in-law or fathers-in-law to each other's child. just sayin'

Toni was a dead man anyway when he took Phil out the boss of 1 of their 5 families it sealed his fate the other family’s couldn’t let a little crew like the Sopranos take out a boss without consequences or it would mean no bosses were safe I think Patsy became boss after Anthony Junior was already set up with carmine jr in the film world and would be protected by carmine he didn’t need to be like his father

Spoons was killed because he was next in line for Junior's crew. The gossip didn't come out until after the hit was ordered.

Heres what you do. You go to the three dots beside the video on ur feed. Then you tap it. Options pop up. You tap “dont recommend this channel”. Bam. Problem solved.

I beg to differ, I put lots of effort into my videos and always have and will. Whether this is writing scripts for the video, reviewing them, recording the script, editing the audio, and putting it all together with the recorded footage to match the audio. Not to mention making a thumbnail for the video, creating tags for the video, and then uploading it all while posting on other socials. But thanks though for watching! 👍🏼
