Fun fact. Penang government doesn’t allow foreigners to cook the food. It must be a local. This is to maintain its food qualities. Unlike other parts of malaysia

Malaysia west coast beaches are a bit dirty due to too many ships sailing thru the straits of melaka , beautiful and cleaner beaches and islands mostly on east coast and sabah such as redang , perhentian , tioman , semporna .. etc

I'm Malaysian but Penang's beaches are not pretty at all. The water is cloudy. And the sand is coarse. The best beaches in Peninsular Malaysia are all at the east coast. But still can't beat those in Sabah!

About the allowable turning (strictly left turns only, mind you!) while it's still red (and when it's safe and there's no oncoming vehicular or pedestrian traffic) actually KL started it first in malaysia, and only around 5-10 years ago, then only a few other cities followed suit, and I guess penang must've been one of them. And ofc KL did this by (finally) following the practical application practised by the US traffic regulations (ofc there only right turns are allowed while red!) while all the time before that, the entire country including KL have been following the UK standards (left turns only on green no matter what, roundabouts are popular, with clockwise direction, vehicles are right hand drive therefore they are driven on the left side of the road, etc)

Laughed when you mentioned driving in Penang 😂. Got to tell you it is A LOT better now than before. And a lot less motorcycles in the north of the island. Now lots of cars. You stayed in the most expensive area of Penang which is the north. Cost of food 10 months after your video is still rising. Because of inflation caused by the fall of the ringgit. Also labour salaries are rising too which is needed. Nothing to do with Covid. During it in Malaysia there were cost controls on all food staples! In Penang never get in the water unless the water is clear. Murky water will have jellyfish.

I've been in Langkawi for a year as a student in 1998, it is a good place to settle down, low crime, people just leave their keys on their vehicles, where the criminals want to run anyway? It's an island, cut off from the mainland, nowhere to run. 😂 But that also the downside, it is far away from the mainland, making me a bit uncomfortable thinking about it. 🙂

I find Penang rather hectic n stuffy. I dont like the streetfood because the hygiene was suspect. The east coast of the peninsular such as Terengganu n Pahang is more tranquil n beautiful. The islands n beaches in both states r far superior and cleaner as compared to Penang's. Penang is more like Chinatown.
