How many times have one of us pointed out something cool in the sky only to be met with a blank stare? The best and most educational part of this video:)

I've lost track. Shoot, even Saturn - which most people are like, "WOW! That's a photo inside there, right?!?" I've had people look and say, "Oh. Okay. That's it?" I get it - not every astronomical phenomenon will blow everyone away. But the hype about penumbral lunar eclipses? It's like... WHHYYYY are we doing this. They're not that exciting. Of interest to a small group of people? Yes. To most people? NO.

Yea showed saturn to my mom once but she didnt recognise it... kinda sad

@@reddust4352 if the craters on the Moon or seeing Saturn doesn't impress a person, nothing will. It's okay - some people aren't interested in it.

I find penumbral eclipses more striking when the Moon is near the horizon. That, unfortunately, won’t be the case on Saturday, but what the hey! We have one at the end of November, but that one is fairly high above the horizon...oh well!
@Eyesonthesky4 жыл бұрын
I tend to agree that most any eclipse (lunar OR solar) is more striking near the horizon. There is something about the eye connecting our landscape with those celestial occurrences that captures the imagination more. They also make for better photo opportunities.

I remember the February 2017 one was like that for me also the 2014 October eclipse

The more my videos get shared (and as such, promoted by KZbin so more people see them), the more I'll be able to make more videos. So... please share them often. That will help me accomplish the goal of producing more content. :-)

Interesting. One area I don't agree with is that of the Earth spinning. Enjoyed vid. ♥️

Do you go outside with telescopes anymore? I've been subbed for a few years now and miss the outdoor stuff. Great stuff btw.
@Eyesonthesky4 жыл бұрын
I do! Honest, it happens. And I'll be doing that more again. The short version is: Got divorced in 2016, had to sell the house, but it didn't sell until this year, and I just moved, so a LOT of things were in flux for several years and made it harder to do more of the outside stuff. You should see more of the observing outside things in the future again. :-)

I love this video so much ❤️❤️❤️ Can you make a Video about a Star in which an Exoplanet orbits in the Constellation of the The Eagle? It is located in the Star Altair . The Star is called Libertas (E Aql). It can be seen with the binoculars because his magnitude is 4.7. Thanks for this Video and Like :)
