I feel the “technical” videos helped me to understand the camera, but then the journey continues with a better chance of finding the image I want. Which might be quite very untechnical! 😂👍

Yeah they’re certainly helpful when it comes to learning the basics! 😌 isn’t it funny how rules and technical know-how go out of the window in certain photographic moments 😂. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 🙏🏻

Good food for thought. Technical videos all basically say the same thing, just by different photographers. I like your channel. Your approach to taking the shot gives me ideas and inspiration.

No matter how many videos I watch on having sharp photos, my photos still aren't always sharp. 🤔

A YT post can, IMO, inform, inspire, and/or entertain. How-to posts fill a need, lend themselves nicely to gear hype/sponsorships etc., and build views/subs per YT algorithms. I see no evidence that information accuracy, or poster credentials is “curated” or “vetted” in any way - so anyone can post “advice”. Viewer beware. Can’t blame potential “pros” from seeking quick/easy business related “advice” and easy roadmaps to success. IMO creativity is developed organically - not something that can be “taught”. A channel can inspire, but what comes of it is up to viewers. There are lots of fine images out there to “inspire” but folks who want to lead by the hand risk disappointment. If I correctly grasp your intent, it will be very challenging to garner a stable following.

All completely valid point Paul, I really appreciate your input and thoughts on this - always great to hear people's perspectives, especially from a viewership point of view! I think for me, whilst I understand that a varied offering of videos that add value is important, I don't want to always t re-hash the same advice that's already been covered a hundred times over in other people's videos, i'd at least like to find a unique spin or offer a different context/perspective on these types of videos.

Great video Chris! I share a lot of your thoughts when it comes to photography advice on social media. Still trying to figure out how I'm going to give out my own advice on this platform without it being too technical 😅
