@Deanna9746 ай бұрын
@bentennyson2565 Hmm. This is not really taught among Christians, but GOD'S WORD says that it is better to marry than to burn. Even as a Christian virgin, I am praying and believing for a godly man. I dont like when people say, "you may never get married." That is unhelpful. I feel like married Christians, and sometimes other single Christians penalize Christians who express that they want to be married. I've observed that Christians who are married who have this "marriage is not all that" (when God, in his word, calls marriage "the grace of life") went into marriage with pornography addictions, lust, or chose unwisely in the first place. I always feel like I have to pretend I'm okay with being single for the rest of my life, when I'm not. 🤷🏾♀️ And I feel like it's kind of implied that if you desire marriage, or feel lonely, or if that waiting is painful, you don't love God enough or something. People who have this attitude, I always ask, "well, why did you get married?" Of course we should control ourselves, flee temptation, not make provision for the flesh. But if you have a desire to be married, you should pray and believe for a spouse. Honoring God with one's body also includes having sex within marriage.
@bentennyson25656 ай бұрын
@Deanna974 Thank you for saying that and I do know that the Bible says it's better to marry than burn with lust I was just responding in context of the video. But I fully agree with what you said I hate when Christians say that as it isn't helpful at all because it makes me feel bad for wanting sex, love, marriage, and to not be lonely and like you said it feels like I have to pretend like I'm ok with it when I'm not. Whenever Christians or married people in general say marriage isn't all that I feel like it comes from the perspective of someone who's had it for a long time and like you said has other problems within their marriage. As happy couples never seem to say stuff like that.

Wow!! This was confirmation. I gave away my virginity at 15 because no one taught me the value. So I put together a lesson on Purity for our homeschooled teenagers and I emphasized that the value of their purity should be for God first and not just for marriage. It’s easier to compromise if you set your mind to save it for marriage. But if you see your body as Gods temple you will not compromise in the same way. The value is MUCH different.
@ItsTrendingTV6 ай бұрын
If you remove sex from the table, you get to see people for who they truly are and their motivations… Holding onto your purity, in a world where people want to use you, is very smart. Until you find someone with pure intentions, who has done emotional and spiritual work to heal their wounds, don’t lose your virginity.

just live righteously. That's it. Nothing more nothing less. Purity is all encompassing however. A lot of Christians get caught up in the fact that as long as they aren't having sex that they are being holy. Holiness is a mindset and has a lot to do with character. Treating people respectfully is within purity. Not cussing out someone that gets on your nerves is apart of purity. Refraining from gossiping and slandering is apart of purity. But many of us don't think that way.

@@Weneed2talktv Agreed, purity and abstinence are both very important for yourself and your future spouse. Although, it is best to remain abstinent and wait for the one God has for you to marry before giving your first to them. Not all are called to marriage but most are. Regardless, men and women should always keep their first time for marriage as God intends. People raised in Christian families should be taught what to and not to do but many lack a parent or we’re raised by ungodly people. This was something I really needed to hear, my ex used to tell me that because I wanted a family so bad then she has no doubt God has something planned for me. I started to believe her but she doesn't get to decide that, God does. And unfortunately I've compromised myself with her in ways I shouldn't have by making excuses and playing the Law like the Sadducees and pharisees. I repent of my sin and changing my mindset to accept I may never have that simple pleasure in life is very hard to do, especially when I've gotten a taste already. but in doing I become a living sacrifice as the Christ Yahawashai (Jesus) was for me and I got to remember that in the grand scheme of things this life is short lived, a means to and end, and greater things are in the Kingdom which will come.

After watching the video, I believe it's safe to say that I hear you. Points that I have taken from the video: 1. It's best to have a mindset of Honoring God with the body that He has bestowed you, than to continue to believe that you're saving yourself for a future spouse, because then your body doesn't belong to the Lord, but to your spouse, which sounds wrong. 2. Sexual purity should reign in thought, conversation, body, and act. 3. There's nothing we can do to make us pure other than wearing the purity and rightness of God. 4. Submit to God, be obedient to God. 5. Our past mistakes does not matter in the Lord's eyes. 6 There are consequences for our actions. 7. Jesus Christ deems us pure, so we may honor our Father in Heaven. 8. We have to adopt His Word and Understanding so we may honor in the right way.
@Weneed2talktv5 ай бұрын
And your body does belong to your spouse once you have one. But it is only in submission to the Word that declares it. So we can’t escape honoring God first. And if our drive to honor God is prioritized then we will continue to honor Him, despite what our spouses do or don’t do.

Indeed we must move differently because we are wearing the garment of righteousness which must not be stained by pollution from the world. And even if it got stained we must get cleaned by the blood of Jesus.
