Thank you. You helped me help myself after years of struggling. Anyone with anxiety should watch ALL your episodes in my opinion. I refer people to you often.❤

Wanted to take 5 mins out tonight to recognise you for your ongoing commitment to helping people suffering with disordered anxiety Drew. I found this video useful but also fascinating and I think it took a potentially complex topic and broke it down really well for people whose minds are already processing so much. I struggle with periods of anxiety on and off, generally months/years between spells.. I love coming back to find your latest videos because they always find new ways to reinforce a consistent message.. so it acts like a motivational coach keeping me focussed on the right path. Well done on the progress with your own qualification and practice btw.. keep up the excellent work!! ❤

The thought that old pathways never go away that we just make new ones makes so much sense. It explains why you can have a setback out of the blue. You mind falls back into the old pathways…

Also reinforcing the value of choosing new paths as the more new pathways we take, the less likely we are to fall into the old ones 💡

Thank you 🙏 you are so easy to listen to and you made a lot sense about the “re wiring bull****”! New pathways sounds more doable!!

Thank you for this! I have been feeling like a failure because I keep getting the initial “shocks” and I am still having a lot of anxiety eventhough I have started new paths. They way you put it that we aren’t deleting the old path makes total sense as to why I am experiencing this. This was the boost I needed to keep going with creating new wiring.

Great episode, thank you! A few months ago I wouldn’t have accepted the thought that I could just “live along” the anxious thoughts/feelings because I wanted them to GO AWAY. I didn’t realize that that’s what keeps them going. Even though now I know, I sometimes fall back into old habits. So yes.. I’ll keep adding information and new pathways. 🤓

Excellent Video Drew! so very helpful to me like all your videos, Thank you!!! I am definitely learning this you are talking about and I am just allowing more when the discomfort or anxiety is there and then just focus on what I am doing in the moment whatever it may be knowing that I am safe regardless. Thank you again and God Bless you 🙏

This episode was awesome! Really resonated with me! I feel like I’m doing exposures wrong that’s where I get stuck. Or the power of suggestion takes over it’s annoying.

Thanks so much for this Drew, literally going through the “re-wiring” process in my recovery journey. It was good to listen to 🍻🙏🏼🙏🏼

Same here, we just have to keep allowing it all and focus on the present taking care of the task in front of us to the best of our ability and keep living to recover FULLY not recovering to live. It helps to know we are not alone in our recovery journey remembering also that God is with us all along and never alone. 🙏🙏

Can you talk about financial anxiety? For example, even though I make enough money , I chronically worry about money or some future event that will make me poor.

Even when you understand the principles and mechanism putting it to work, and tailoring it is still a lot of trial and error. But as you said, its doesn't live în a void.

Hi! Could you do an episode on phagophobia? I'd really appreciate it and since its not very common I'd love for others to feel less alone as well in this 😊

Hello!! I have a question,, What to do with thought loops? Should I stop? Stopping it means I am running away from it. Also Marry Christmas 🍻

I was a nurse for 30yrs and have a health anxiety. My brain was trained to think of what symptoms might be and I wonder if anyone has that too
@TheBoopbedoop26 күн бұрын
Oh yes! I am a nurse and was a hospice nurse for years. The health anxiety from any sensation in my body is relentless and starts the moment I open my eyes. Right now I have had a pain in my side and lower mid back for 3 months and my brain is convinced it's lung cancer. It doesn't help that I have googled so many symptoms that my algorithm presents information regarding such on a daily basis. It sucks.

I only have chest tingling sensations left...no anxiety for weeks. Trying to have patience is difficult. I am able to do anything just can't seem to let go of whatever is causing this.

False information is causing it so ot doesn't matter what is causing it, what matters is it can get better

Is ‘ not engaging with the thoughts ‘ the same as resisting ? Can you tell me the difference ?
@PaulJohnson-jb1td7 күн бұрын
Drew has done loads about this. Yes, they are different. Not engaging is more about acknowledging without action, it is a passive response. Resistance is more about going into battle with it. The passive response is better. Best of luck.
