The Truth About: ROBLOX .HAR SCAM

This is a very elaborate scam which you need to watch out for on Roblox. The scammer will try to convince you to send a seemingly innocent file from your Roblox page to them, but it actually contains an EXTREMELY important cookie which your browser uses to keep you logged in. If they have access to this cookie, they will also have full access to your account.

What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX - interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything - be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.

If you have fallen for this scam, I HIGHLY recommend that you immediately sign out of all sessions, which is a button that can be located in the settings menu, and after that, quickly change your password to ensure they will no longer have access to your account. But know that you must act quickly. If you want to stay safe from any sort of Roblox scam, I recommend that you enable 2FA and never give someone your HAR file for your Roblox account. sent that file, got hacked, luckily i had my phone number so i changed the password, got back in and set up every security measure i could think of, changed the password like 5 times, thanks man, you're a real life saver. still a little paranoid so i'm just keeping a watch on all the sessions

I think that the har file may have other information related to your logged in device, but I am unsure whether it has your IP address. Anyway, your account credentials are much more valuable to these hackers than your IP in this situation.

If you have access to the account right now, I would log out all sessions and change the passwords. Also make sure no emails or phone numbers have changed to ensure the hacker hasn't attached one to get back in. If you can do all that and don't see anything wrong with your account, I think it is pretty safe to buy robux with that account again. For your address, they probably don't have it unless you have a payment service linked to roblox that supplies your address through your account (Which I don't think is directly shown). I'd say you are completely fine.

If you end up getting hacked make sure you have your .HAR file open that file and your in go to settings and tap sign out of other sessions
