Hi. I am a Cuban, living in my country. I Thank you so much for this because I usually feel so impotent and outraged when I have to deal with the huge amount of misinformation about Cuba out there. My opinion is, all that serves the purpose of justifying and perpetuating this crazy aggression on us. The cost of the blockade has been way more than economical, but also social, moral, philosophical, political; this has really damaged a society that has decided to make social justice, human integral development and dignity and equality of opportunities a central goal; which we haven't achieved yet. I would never claim my society is perfect in any way. We do have issues to solve and things to change and improve. But this is the path we've chosen and we have the right to. I think the whole world would benefit from a good old fashion Revolution.

If you‘re honestly Cuba, tu deberías saber que gracias por Fidel y Raúl todavía tenemos bastante racismo en nuestra comunidad, como cuando Raul dijo en la mesa redonda que los “negros” ya se están poniendo en posiciones de “governar” y que están aprendiendo lentamente….. And you would also know that in 2020 the “Gusanos” from Miami donated containers full of food to feed the Cuban people all that food ended up in hotels and not at my abuelitas table as it was promised by the revolucionarios Yes there are sanctions but even with donations the Castro Cartel decides to sell it to tourist so they can have more money…. After the Riots in cuba 5 generals disappeared that talked against the Castro regime (they didn’t act violent but put a video on social media talking about the problems on the island and why the new generation doesn’t romanticize the revolution)

Cuban doctors are the kinds of doctors you would find in the hells stomach in the jungles helping indigenous people, where not even the brazilian doctors go to help. So family, friends, doctors and patients were forced away, because of how disconected the people of a country are from their state. This wasn't just doctors, diplomatic missions all over Brazil were rushed to shut down and Cuba had to withdraw aid to the people of Brazil. Consulates closed, relations cut. @@alfredosenalle9284 Most of the Cubans who left, left for 2 reasons. 1) they were capitalists who supported the USA even before Fidel so left of their own volition. 2) The blockade is crippling Cuba so badly that people are forced to look elsewhere for food, even then it's very few that leave for that reason. Even if all these things you claim (without a source lol) were true, what right does it give the USA to interfere? The USA is the land of the free, no? So it should reflect that in its international politics by leaving other nations alone. Just like the video said, if communism in Cuba is so bad, let it fail on its own without US interference. If they think it'll fail, the cuban people will rise up like they did before and cast out their government. It is not our business on how a sovereign state conducts its own business.

As i understand it, many Cuban Americans that left Cuba during the revolution are the main drive for continuing this fruitless embargo and suppression. They lost a LOT of privately held business, infrastructure, and land, some of which are incredibly bitter about it and live in the hopes that if America ever does 'free' Cuba, that the US government will force the return of their family 'held' property. is that true, or over embellished?

@@justinsuarez168 I don't think he hides the fact that be has biases. We all do and there is no such thing as "neutral". Are there people in Cuba who don't like their government? Yes, there most certainly are, but that doesn't change the fact that the U.S. media has blatantly lied about this crap for ages. And we gotta ask ourselves why that would be necessary if things were really that bad. Also, it's not like the U.S. has any damn room to lecture anyone about mistreating protesters.

Knowing history is important. Cuba was a puppet for the US for a long time, but then Fidel came and led a revolution. Cuba was finally free from US domination, but it had to pay a price. A big price, that it has to pay until today. We should support Cuba in its struggle to get rid of the shackles that the US empire still has Cuba enchained in. #HandsOffCuba #LiftCubaEmbargo

@@Jay_Johnson There is a possible way to sanction US by their own logic If the US hates "Socialism" no matter how small and unwilling to trade or talk to such countries Then every country in EU with Universal Healthcare (A socialist idea according to them despite being a universal human right) And any country that wants to bring prosperity to its people Would he under this umbrella of "socialism" in the end they will be more closed than N.Korea because every country on earth with an ounce of care of its citizens would adopt a "socialist" policy

I was an exchange student in Argentina- Santiago del Estereo. I remember there was quite a bit of racism against the indigenous population there… Also I kept in touch with my host family via social media and was later unfriended by my host brother because I support socialism. I didn’t realize at the time they were right wingers.

@@ksvba96-36 In the 20th century, Argentina experienced significant political turmoil and democratic reversals. Between 1930 and 1976, the armed forces overthrew six governments in Argentina; and the country alternated periods of democracy (1912-1930, 1946-1955, and 1973-1976) with periods of restricted democracy and military rule. Following a transition that began in 1983, full-scale democracy in Argentina was reestablished. Argentina's democracy endured through the 2001-02 crisis and to the present day; it is regarded as more robust than both its pre-1983 predecessors and other democracies in Latin America. (Wikipedia)

Holy crap I didn’t know all of this. Everyone all over social media is claiming to have family or be from Cuba, especially on tiktok, and saying it’s not the embargo that’s doing damage and it’s their government doing it instead.

There's a while study that shows the embargo is of little effect, it's done by a left wing think tank too. It's amazing how you leftist bend over backwards in the name of Marxist ideology, how is it that the people who lived on the island and escaped, as well as the abundance of stats (acknowledged by even some socialists economist) showing LCuba's main failure is its giverment is not enough. This white savior sob is enough tho, not the people who live on the island. I never seen people who love a island go on water rafts to escape it.
