Davinci Resolve is already one of the best video editing softwares for youtubers, editors, and filmmakers in 2023, but what if you want to edit even faster? Blackmagic design has a tool for that. This is my review of the Davinci Resolve Speed Editor.
The Speed Editor is a compact and ergonomic device that is designed to fit seamlessly into your workspace, allowing for efficient control without taking up too much space. It features a set of dedicated keys, including cut, copy, paste, and other editing functions, as well as a multifunction jog wheel that allows for precise frame-by-frame navigation and timeline scrubbing.
This device is all about speed and efficiency, making it ideal for professional video editors and colorists who need to work quickly and precisely.
But is the Resolve Speed Editor worth it? at $395, it's not the cheapest tool in the box, but the effective cost drops down to $100 if you're interested in purchasing it alongside Davinci Resolve Studio. Still, I recommend buying it when it's on sale! It's not uncommon for the Editor to be discounted, so keep your eyes peeled for a good deal.

I followed your video and Darrens video, but no one tells / shows how you add video with your audio that comes from a different source, AKA external mic & then dedicated camera..

Go to your media pool, select your video clip and the matching audio clip, then right click and scroll to “auto sync audio” and click “by waveform”. This should link the audio clip to your video clip. You can also do this manually by lining up the video and audio tracks in the editor, linking them, and saving them as a new compound clip in your editing pool

Helpful I’ve been considering moving my indi production house to DV for a while. Premiers crashing is just brutal. Does DV crash much?

Over 2ish years of editing I’ve only had resolve crash once. ONCE! Plus i think the issue was my old computer rather than the software. I have never had it crash while working on my Mac studio.

Can we please stop the trend where influencers think it’s cool to hold cheap audio recorders in frame? You spend all this time and effort to produce a solid, well lit video and then cheapen it by 75%. Plus the jump in quality is really harsh.
