I'll go ahead and conclude it for the ones who want to skip. CIA teamed with Nehru to stop communists in Kerala in 1957. The Brits and the Yanks(Along with the Soviets) conducted a lot of intelligence ops in India including funneling money to certain political parties. Brits did a lot of propaganda but when they were asked about the results they apparently had nothing to show for it according to the guest. The guest concludes by saying that the only thing that the CIA and MI6 achieved was the formation of a conspiratorial nature amongst the Indian state, politicians, and the Indian masses. So we must trust the CIA and MI6. Let bygones be bygones. How dumb we Indians are that we hold the US and UK to their actions in the past!

Why its 'dumb' to hold someone for their actions? Those actions resulted into the present.

India's non-aligned stance during the Cold War is a source of national pride. The book's exploration of Western attempts to influence India's policies could be seen as downplaying India's independent foreign policy and its resistance to bloc politics.

we and our families our fellow citizens would be living in a developed india today and enjoying the benefits of it passed it onto our families next gen had we accepted american hegemony and let go of our sovereignty like the rest of the west.. instead we chose to keep our so called sovereignty and stay poor till date.. all because our politcians elites and bureaucracy didnt want to bow down and do as the americans asked them to

@@AKumar-co7oe pak is the way it is because of india not accepting american hedgemony.. a small nation like pak had no choice but to accept american hegemony or get rolled over by indian hegemony, had india accepted american hegemony before itself, all these wars wouldnt have happened. the war wasnt between ind and pak . it was america using pak to fight against ind, the entire american manufacturing wouldnt have gone to china and southeast asian countries india would have it as well , would become a market economy, reduce its population and be a proper developed country, instead the congress stooges chose to remain with the british hegemony operating from america, instead of accepting both.

Should've explored about the French intelligence in India during the late 70s and 80s since it was very successful. It was a good listen anyway. 👍🏽

The difference is that the Pakistan's nation state actively seeks a foreign hand to justify its existence ! Case in point ( Pakistan's Military ) Its the exact opposite in India.
