Interesting view, although for one of the first times I don't really agree with you. I know your extremely opened minded so please don't take this the wrong way in any form, as I could be wrong myself. In many hobbies or interests I have there is a big difference between enthusiast grade and normal consumer grade equipment. Be computers, cars, drones, camera's and PEV's (obviously there are so many more but it's just and example). In most cases all the enthusiast grade equipment is usually the very best bang for buck. Essentially getting away with all the bells and whistles you don't need, then using that money to buy the very best of the best hardware to create that product. But the issue with this, is that it's only intended to be used by experienced users. In most cases products can be upgraded or modded ( IF YOU HAVE THE KNOW HOW). These products usually don't come from large company's with a lot of resources and usually have minimal research and development carried out. This is not usually a large concern as the demographic that purchases these items are experienced and usually will be tinkered with. On the other hand, most normal consumer grade equipment is the complete opposite. They never have the best specifications because the money that would be spent mostly on hardware is now spent on research and development, testing, material testing, impact testing, IP testing, etc. The end result is a product that does not have all the highest specifications, but is very intuitive, user friendly, robust and polished product that will not require the same amount of knowledge to set up or be used efficiently. People wanted stronger rims, they made a rim with a huge impact rating, people wanted a smart BMS with individual cell monitoring, they made it. People wanted suspension, they made it, People wanted water and dust resistance (actually IP rated), they did it. They wanted a good headlight, tail light, roll bars, charge port, USB port, fast charging, they done all of this. They went the extra step and potted the batteries for extra safety and heat dissipation. They made the controller modular, over engineered it, sealed it with IP rating, thicker wires, connectors etc. To take it another step further they Automated a large majority of the production to remove something like 60% of human labour which eliminates a lot of human error QC issues. I come from this background and this equipment is not cheap. Then they get crucified by everyone as if 3000wh is so abysmal that the wheel is a fail. This is what you get when money is spent evenly to create a normal consumer grade product. In order to pay for everything listed above something has to give. Its like building a 500hp “2000's civic or buying a new turbo civic. Or a DIY FPV drone vs a pre built. Yes you can make the old/cheaper one faster with less money, but if you don't have the interest, know how or time, why bother. I feel EUC's have been in the “Prototyping” phase since its creation and at some point someone has to take this awesome machine to the next level. Being a more mainstream consumer grade product that hopefully will be more safe and durable and bring this technology to a new era. Like you said in the video along the lines of “I hope the BMS is good” when referring to the 500wh EXN upgrade. A person who is newly interested and wants to start riding is not going to know what a BMS is, or what a good or bad one is. They just want to buy a good product that will last, and I feel that's what Inmotion is trying to do here. There taking a leap of faith by over engineering as much of the fail points as possible in a hope they move this tech out of the Prototype era. As for Begode, I see them as the enthusiast grade equipment. They will give you a crazy motor and battery set up, but will give you a lousy headlight, tail light, thin rims, next to no safety measures, thin plastics, Basic B&^ch BMS, Foam, build quality and the crowd goes wild. Well that crowd is the enthusiasts that are going to replace the headlight, tail light, bend rims, replace pads, push it to the limit. That is completely fine, but that is the small minority of an already small minority. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this as there as enthusiasts for almost everything. I feel like this is easily overlooked as the majority of the minority are silent. Hope you can see this point of view my dude, keep safe and all the best. Can't wait to see what you do next.

Great video. The V13 will have a new (raptor) control board, & very different control board design than v12, actually the electronics are all completely different, with the exception of the display, its not passed over to V13. So none of the control board issues like cutout, can be passed over to the V13 from the v12. Also they limited the V13 to 3024Wh for safe redundancy, if there was a failure with one of the packs. It's a awesome wheel, lots of choices out there.
@mach16j2 жыл бұрын
From my perspective the v13 is basically 2x every spec from what I have (16x) which is too slow for me now. I actually considered getting an exn from ewheels instead but it's basically transparent to water. It's only the perfect wheel until you feel a drop of rain and then you get anxiety that your wheel is going to burn down. It's funny everytime I think about buying Begode I hear about a fire in the Facebook group. Like 2 weeks ago I read about a guys burnt out apartment. After being into 3d printing I learned that I really don't like working on cheap machines to make them work. I just want to use the machine that I bought without constant fixing, tweaking, and modding to make it an acceptable product. Therefore I would rather just pay more to get something good. What's funny is that escooters, ebikes, and esk8 don't have this weird problem where you have no choice but to buy something substandard if you want to go fast. It's a problem that our community invented by not demanding better products. Good video. That's just my perspective.

I would honestly rather have a wheel that is 100lbs, because of extreme redundancy and safety than a wheel with extreme performance. My ideal wheel 50 mile range with a super cap in case of battery failure, redundancy on the power management, double hall effect sensors, hollow motor with a thick and durable axle, and suspension. Speed doesn’t need to be any faster than 30-35mph.

Hey normally you talk sense...but not today! Begod only has performance at our expense. Low quality builds, no safety features until forced to, no taking responsibility and pushing motors to their extreme is the opposite of quality! The V13 will be the safest and best quality built wheel to come, the Sherman will be second place. The majority of EUC riders do not do 45MPH for 15minutes straight. I doubt the majority even do 40mph for 10 minutes straight. I’m putting my money on Inmotion. I have a HS V12 and never had a cut out. Dude when talking about v12 cutting out, you have to pay attention to the region in the world where they have the majority of cutouts. Plus the bach of shipments. V12 cutting out will not stop the V13 from selling out when it drops. That wheel is gonna have lots of people waiting on the back orders, I can guarantee that. Bro, right now, that’s the most anticipated wheel. Inmotion, Gotway/begode and kingSong came into the game at the same time. Inmotion was just more focus on safety of their wheels and keeping them at lower speed. That’s the only difference between Inmotion,KingSong an Gotway/begode. Gotway had to go change their name to begode because of the damage they’ve done in the community.

If you ever get a chance to work on a V12, do it. I have a V12 and I performed my own board swap. I have an early version EX.N also. The build quality between the two wheels is stark. I was expecting InMotion’s play was to make something like a V11 Pro…take the V11 but make it 100V to get into those higher speeds, and slap on more battery…say…2700 Wh. Weight would increase but you get the extra power and larger battery and a great offering in that tier or class of wheels. I took one look at the V13’s 3024 Wh battery and said…nope! Already got a larger battery suspension wheel, and it’s not even as heavy. I don’t know what they were thinking going with that price and that weight and not even having at least 3600 Wh. We’ll see how it goes. I’m skeptical on the popularity of 100+ pound wheels. That market is pretty niche as is.
@thefoss7212 жыл бұрын
Bro think about it.. it’s not just the battery - 30lbs heavier for a 22” wheel with twice the size motor, better/stronger built, 300+ wh , 124v or whatever, suspension, added safety/speed and probably torque screen/tech all for $1500 more money… that is a lot of added specs for the only negative of not being able to carry up stairs when that’s probably not a issue for most people who have a brain and can think around the issue… doesn’t sound like a issue at all for inmotion I know they will sell alot of those wheels Btw are you able to get all the sales numbers of all the wheels that have released?! Everyone talks about which wheel is better or more likely to sell… why doesn’t someone just get all the #’s for crying out loud and just lay rest to who wants what wheel the most .. can you get that info or do you not have the ability? I see your argument but it goes both ways man, if you want a high quality wheel the challenger is it.. if you want a bare bones high performance wheel get your wheel.. but for people who want extremely classy wheels for not a whole lot more money .. it’s the challenger hands down.. just depends on who is looking at this wheel everyone is different, you can’t say one wheel is better , totally different audience

I'm halfway through this video and you still haven't made your point. Lol...I'll come back later when I have time to make some popcorn. Haha Just kidding my friend. Really enjoy your videos and always appreciate the information and your unique point of view. I've been riding second batch V-11 for over 2 years now. It was my first wheel and it did exactly what I wanted it to do. It gave me an even keel experience with speed, safety, robustness, quality of product and I learned how to ride suspension right out the gate. I can ride for a good 4 to 5 hours and 35 mph is a great top speed for beginner riders in my opinion. In terms of performance the v11 is not dominant in any one particular catigory but I would have to say it is dominant in every catigory combined. Meaning...I would not give it a 10 in terms of torque and top speed but I would give it a solid eight. I would not give it a 10 on range but I would give it a solid 8. I would not give it a 10 in convenience because it's larger than some Wheels, but I would give it a solid 8. I would not give the suspension a 10 but I would give it a solid 8. I would however give it a 10 in looks, comfort, quality and durability. I'm a risk taker so I've crashed my v11 a lot of times and it can take a real beating! I also give it a 10 on safety because I never once had a cut out. Even when I was going a little too fast for the amount of battery I had left. All I had to do was respect the tilt back and I stayed safe. So it scores more eight out of 10s, but I think if you add up the average it dominates just about any wheel out there even today! I would love to have the V12. I totally understand about the cutout situation, but from what I understand inmotion fixed the problem which I believe was a motherboard issue. Finally getting to the point here. You mentioned that because the V12 had cut out issues it may be a sign of bad things to come for the v13. However, If you really think about it... I believe that with all the safety margins incorporated into the v-13 such as... The strongest rim! (This is my only true disappointment with the v11. That rim is soft as bubble gum in my opinion!) Anyhow, all the new mosfets, the triangle of communication between the motherboard and batteries, and most importantly the massive buffer between the 55 mph cap speed and actual 75 mp top speed. Inmotion has just created the safest wheel in the world! That's why I pre-ordered it! I should get it by December and when I do I'll make a nice review video for everybody. Thanks again for your videos and great content! Always interesting and enjoyable to watch you my friend! You do the EUC community a great service!

Different design philosophies. Begode wheels don't actually cutout unless riders push it passed it's limit. Inmotion is attempting something new where reaching the motor limit is not even possible. It is difficult to say what the author meant. Let me just say that battery capacity is not everything ... even more important is the discharge rate of the battery, adequate motor power and many other factors. Unfortunately, many people in this hobby are unfamiliar with the basics of brushless motor operation, ESC controllers, Lion packages, connector limitations, gyro problems, and more. Just increasing the thickness of the cables (8awg?) will reduce resistance and provide more amps to the motor. For me, the v13 is definitely a good attempt to make a wheel that won't cut off, but the weight and size of this wheel completely eliminate it in my eyes, I know why they made such decisions but we will see how it goes, as you said there is no companies with good reputation in this hobby.

I don't understand people wanting an EUC that will go so fast - wouldn't it be better just to drive a car or motorbike? I have a Nik+ and probably count myself as an enthusiast but I have zero interest in going faster than 30mph. Why would I want the weight of a wheel with that capability? or the cost? In all honesty, I'm not even interested in suspension. What I do want is a rugged wheel, that won't randomly burst into flames, that offers decent lighting front and rear, and preferably offers the same range as my Nik+. I also want the wheel to look fairly subtle as I don't want problems taking the wheels into offices, supermarkets and coffee shops etc.

I wish there were more riders near me so i could try more wheels. you mentioned that the s22 shouldnt be torqued before a jump/bump. i can confirm this. i hit a big bump trying to do a hard acceleration and i almost went down. i lucked out, had i been on an incline or had the bump been bigger i suspect i would have crashed.

You are so bias for Begode. Begode owners are suppose to replace the battery pack every year. At first, I just ignored it as lawyer talk and covering themselves from legal actions. But there are no jurisdiction for manufacturer in China. Then I saw Wrong Way's review on EXN. He mentioned how the electronics and batteries were wired to draw more power and performance from battery packs at the expense of longevity and the packs safety. I would like to see someone who is an expert in electronics and lithium ion batteries to check if what Wrong Way said is correct.

It's not tall because there's no suspension... the v13 has suspension so it's taller and heavier. Oh I continued watching and you mention it. It sounds like your comparison is just about the tradeoffs of suspension vs non suspension. I think the master is a good tradeoff of suspension, weight and power so I'll be getting that when I upgrade.

@CrunchyTire2 жыл бұрын
I put my deposit down but I think I will cancel. Lifting that weight is not my concern, its everyting else around it. For example, I have a spare tire and subwoofer in the trunk area, and my trunk has that covered floor that covers them. Putting the V13 in there will cause that to bow in. So now I have to consider reinforcing my trunk just to take the wheel somewhere? What if I wanted to put it in friends car and destroy his car lol. Im just too concerned it wont get used like I do my other wheels because I can just toss them in a trunk and go. I'll wait for release and see the reviews, just pay the extra $600 over the early bird price if I change my mind. The videos coming out with the little asain dudes trying to muscle it around is a bad look too lol. One dude dropped it going like 5mph around a corner.

Everybody can have an opinion. However, I would differentiate "the truth" vs "my truth". I do not agree with your opinion since from my point of view, you seem to be wrong from the start assuming too much and comparing pears with apples. Inmotion is not following or competing with Begode. They started years earlier, produce and sell more worldwide. Their strategy has been successful and for many years it has been clearly different from other manufacturers. Instead of offering the highest speed at expenses of safety, Inmotion has invested producing safer vehicles for a diversity of users worldwide. Faster = superior or better? Not necessarily. For some, portability may be more important and each user has different priorities. You compare EUCs by their battery capacity in a linear way discarding everything else despite not even the specification sheets are made with the same criteria among different manufacturers. Do you purchase your cars by the size of their gas tank or rather by their mileage? I provide services for all brands and models of EUC, and at my workshop I see extreme differences in quality build among manufacturers and models. There are models I would not even dare introduce in my home. Where you see "efficiency", I see cheap and dangerous built (or at least overpriced devices for their manufacturing cost). I ride under rain and I would not attempt that unless the EUC has batteries that can be submersed and the electronics are properly encased, period. That is my criteria and that's why I would not title a video as "the truth of...". Instead I would write "my opinion about...". In one hand we get exposed boards in the same space as the batteries and phase cables, just covered with some spots of silicone or in the best case by a thin plastic. While in the other hand we have a modern car level design and built vehicle. Our choices depend on the values we attribute to each variable or our priorities. For me, safety is first and right there my choice is obviously different to what you call "superior" because at minimum, I do not want to risk burning my house. Also, I do not agree with the idea of what you have promoted as "performance" neither. In my city/country, EUCs are still legal but limited in speed and all models can achieve it. So the choice is made by a plethora of variables other than speed. However, in your country some cities have already banned the use of EUCs. This may well be a trend fueled in part, by users and youtubers that value EUC models mainly by their speed rather than the properties that make them a unique way of transport. Clearly, if I want SPEED, an EUC would not be my vehicle of choice and regardless of its max speed at 100% charge, I do not ride at high speed on EUCs because I think it makes no sense when you cannot brake on time in case of an emergency. Rather than max speed, I care about my minimum braking distance. No surprises, by having different criteria we make different choices. V13 fills a specific niche in the market that other models of Inmotion EUCs were not covering. As simple as that and not needing to speculate relationships with other manufacturers' strategies. Nobody mentally sane would ride the V13 at 90 km/h, but having that huge safety margin may be very much appreciated. Lately, EUCs were getting unsafer. I got surprised when the S20/S22 got on fire in Begode style. Therefore, I am so glad Inmotion has their own strategy and invested in producing a different type of vehicle. Their first "big" wheel but with all the other parts scaled-up accordingly. That is what makes the V13 different and from my personal point of view "superior": 42 MOSfet, 18 capacitors, 8AWG cables, encased batteries behind several layers of protection, cell level data/checks and redundancies in so many systems to keep you safe. To achieve that of course it will weight more. Its mileage is also interesting but I do not need that much since I get tired after 50km even riding with a seat. If I could, I would have a V13 just due to its far ahead technology and safety standards. 😉

I find this hilarious that its actually the other way around. Its honestly too bad we can't see the sales numbers but I would honestly guess that Inmotion dominates the market in overall sales. Up until Inmotion released the V13, Bogode freaked out and unprecedentedly started releasing wheel after wheel. Why saturate the market with wheels unless your scared your going to lose sales. Begode isn't efficient, the platform is exactly the same as the master. Add batteries, put a smaller tire on it. The small tweak to the suspension on the Master V2 is the exact same set up on the T4 and the Pro. How is this efficient? lol They rolled them out, and now each one is having its share of problems because they weren't properly tested, and made specifically for that type of riding. While Inmotion is still even now testing the v13, before it gets to the hands of reviewers, I am willing to bet because of its care of making the wheel safer, having a better quality bar none compared to the competition, it will sell much better than all the Begode wheels. KZbin influencers like yourself, FB, telegram, and even EUC forum members who rave their praise about the fastest Begode wheel are actually a small fraction of the overall buyers for EUCs.

@MeediaGuyRolls2 жыл бұрын
Bro why is this video about EXN?? They doesn't even fall in the same category?? If you wanna compare them no matter what, all wheels can be modified to have more battery and better ride. And don't even get me started with what wheel can go faster with what motor capacity, its not about the speed at this point it's about motor efficiency and better torque. 4500wh just mean it can stay cool and efficient even going 50-55mph constant without breaking a sweat with lots of headroom and less or none risk of cutout! And it can carry heavy Rider with ease... Also why would the v13 have the same problem the v12 had? Its a different wheel with different design different specs.. the way you are comparing is like comparing a 84v wheel to a 100v wheel, can a 84v wheel go 50km/h yes but can it stay at 50 constant? Thats why 100v is invented... Same story with a 100v vs 126/134v and saying inmotion made a thin tall wheel bro that's just a way inmotion makes a wheel, look at their previous products... They believe in a sleak design. And gotway really have a shity quality, they break easy, everything is cleap plastic, nothing is water resistant they started the wheel on fire trend and old ladies assemble the wheel you are riding thats why they changed the company name! So give inmotion a break, they are just trying to make safer wheels. I wouldn't trust gotway to buy a wheel to my kid or loved one, something safer and durable would be my choice. A suspension is a different set-up altogether, EXN doesn't even have a suspension... It had one we all know what happened to that. Maybe make a comparison video btwn V13 vs Master or Master Pro coz thats some competition. EXN is a great machine no doubt but comparing it to anything now and saying i can add 500wh is crazy.. take a break and ride v13 when it comes out lets see what you have to say... Peace ☮️

Nice response. The comparison with the exn was used as a test case to demonstrate how much more efficient begode is with battery capacity and form. Inmotion creates amazing wheels but when it's about performance they give alot less for more money and more weight. The v13 is a concept that we all hope will work out well, but until it hits the streets, we won't truely know how that theory will holds up, but I can't wait. Ps if it does hold then begode will have some serious issues to content with, otherwise it will all be for not

I can't yet because I have no desire to. None of them have been fully tested how I would prefer. As for jealousy, I'm not sure what you mean. Can you please elaborate?
