As a gentile and someone who has been practicing a Nazirite vow for almost three years, thank you for offering your insight. As a native English speaker and someone who usually studies using the KJV of Scripture, I always look to find better interpretations of the OT. There are so many misinterpretations in modern translations of the OT/Torah that I usually have to check any verses that offer contention; usually resolving these matters when I look into the original language of the text. The “Hebrew” language beautiful. It’s a shame we allowed so many references in the Good Book to be altered or “Anglicanized” for newer interpretations, especially with respect to individuals. All that aside, I do sometimes wonder if my practice of the Nazirite vow conflicts with the Father’s design, by not being a descendant of His chosen people. Other than that caveat, I do wholly believe the practices of this particular vow have drawn me closer to God and allowed me to be used by Him to draw others to him. To your point of whether or not a Nazirite is considered “elevated” or holy; I would simply propose that the design of a Nazirite is to forgo personal desires for life (beyond that of compliance to the Commandments), to even further focus their mind, body, and soul on the Maker. This is why I feel each of the three components of the Nazirite vow pertain to the three components of being (an amazing image of God’s identity/Holy Trinity). These are just my interpretations however and I can not attest to know His designs on any levels with absolute assurance. If anyone has read through this rambling, thank you for your time. Stay humble and pursue God before all else, brothers and sisters!

1 Corinthians 11:4 "Every man who covers his head when he prays or speaks what God has revealed dishonors the one who has authority over him." So we are not to have anything but hair on our heads.
