Thank you so much for your one month review on the RuRoc helmet as I have been saving lots towards getting one of their products but I feel now after hearing and seeing all the issues and cheap quality that I will seek another company that provides better quality goods that last for the money you pay. Thanks for the great insights! I considered a Ruroc helmet but there were far too many detractors within the group I ride with. Rurocs look nice but there are much better helmets out there for the money. Rurocs have a very negative reputation in my circles.

For 400$ and not perfect attention to small details. Deff not a helmet for me. Maybe lower your price till your quality improves. This video just made me not buy this helmet. Thank goodness I'm not dropping money on these.

Jose Dias can you imagine that ruroc margin is one of the best in class? Let compare Arai helmets (please check videos about how an Arai helmet is made) and then imagine how cheap ruroc molded outer shell cost. Then let compare how much ruroc ask for their direct sell compared to how much Arai is asking knowing that in between there is a dealer and a national distributor who margin. Then you understand how much Ruroc pocket in and reinvest in facebook adds and how low consideration on developing and finding the right material. I will pass on the design where I guess this is the second largest expense they made trying to catch teenager with their more than questionable design (ok on that last point I admit being biased and too old for their design). I would never put or advise anyone to put their safety in the hand of such an helmet.

I can see a load of reasons why I wouldn’t use it on the street and no reason why I would. I love the design but for the price you can buy a nice Arai or Shoei.

I was so keen to get one of them for when I was riding my Evolve but I am glad I held off. Its a good looking helmet and design but at that price you need some quality too. I currently ride with a Bell Super Air R. Its not too warm in the winter but taping up the vents help allot. I like the option to take off the chin for when I am out on the MTEN3 or just riding around the road.

When i see it every where ruroc i was oh yes i need one of those helmets. And i have 2 RG1-DX just im very disappointed, thank for your honesty and thank you for saving me some money because i was getting the same model i was thinking it will be better, i think only the look of the helmets are nice

Thanks for this review. Be been considering this helmet for a while, but it sounds like the quality isn’t worth the high price. Others have had similar issues with the liner on this and the Atlas.

I know your pain, I only got it because most of my riding buddies got it too, I keep re-fitting my liner more regularly than I probably should, whenever I put it on, something seems to scratch my cheek. I feel suffocated in it and for the price, I’m really disappointed. Won’t be getting another

Hey Adam, here's a tip for you on removing the black gunk on the helmet. You can either buy a commercial product "goo gone" or best yet, diy your own for next to nothing. Mix a 50/50 combo of veggie oil & baking soda (aka NaHCO3) well & rub it in to the black goo. Then use a cloth to wipe it off. That's it. If its really stubborn goo/glue, use a heat gun on it 1st & it'll all rub off easy pheasy. I'm gonna pass on the Ruroc helmet though. Not my cuppa tea.

I had similar issues with my Shark Vancore... another great, great looking helmet with lots of issues.

For me I would simply buy Arai and I will when that time comes, £150 more for the highest quality helmet which can be fully adjusted internally via the use of layered padding. If you purchase a performance wheel your protective clothing should cost at least half the price of the wheel. Lastly as wheelers we ride when we can, as such we need protective gear that will last and can be used everyday without premature degradation.

I was going to buy one of these, but may have changed my mind now. The RG1 may be a better option as its cheaper, lighter, has a quick release peak (which has a camera mount), better liner and a quick release chin strap. See if Ruroc could send you one to review as its probably better than the Berserker.

That's really too bad this helmet had a lot of issues. I love my Ruroc for snowboarding and esk8. Was looking at this helmet for riding a fast Kuberg electric light MX bike.
