I've been a follower of Jesus for over 30 years and don't feel anywhere near having arrived. Not until I see him face to face and I hear "well done my good and faithful servant", will I consider myself to have arrived.

You'd have to go back to the actual behind the scenes video with Dallas and the Director of special effects who made this scene of the fish in the net. It was a "miracle" in itself.

I am a Peter of the life. That is me. I try hard and keep trying and then I go to God and complain and THEN I actually surrender and listen. I love Peter!😂

Matthew's life was also changed at this time! Like many who hear the gospel but don't surrender right away, Matthew continues life as usual but this incident is always in the back, and sometimes front, of his mind. Until Jesus gives him an invitation he cannot refuse! So many come to Christ this way. Pastor Greg Laurie (The Jesus Revolution) was one of those. ❤

Watching these older videos made me realize how much time has passed with the crew growing out their hair in each season. I do love this interaction between Matthew and Peter, even though Matthew is the reason why Qunitus is coming after Peter. Matthew (probably feeling a little bit guilty) gives Peter the warning he needed.

I love Simon's rant about Jewish history (400 years of slavery, conquered by Babylonians and exiled, etc., etc.) and acting like he went through them all 🙂

Yes, I love the scene where they catch fish! 🥰🐟🐠 So cool! I new the fish weren't real but just a big green bag of water which made for a great effect! Also, love Matthew with his dog 🐕! Matthew's expression is so great, His face expression was like, What? What's happening here?🤔❤

I love that you always refer back to Bible passages relevant to the specific scenes. It's a big help in anchoring which parts of the show is which. :) thanks!

Hey Brandon. Just so you know. I like your nite picking. It helps with us older folks

I think that the point of the nets is to show that he is desperate to get as more fish as he can. I think he is using a drag net and a cast net to try and get fish one way or another. It's desperation as Matthew told him they are coming for him.

Ah, back in season 1 when everything was so simple, so full of joy, but also uncertainty. They didn't miss out the 40 days in the wilderness though - it's in John's Gospel where John B points Jesus out to Andrew etc, but there's no account of his baptism there. John B just says what he saw (presumably when he did baptise Jesus) so that could be a memory from 41 days ago that he's now relating to his disciples.

I think it's good for people to know that the show is not strictly scriptural; I hope it causes folks to read the Bible Gospels for themselves & seek to know Jesus. I see that the timing of the scriptures is warped by the Chosen. I understand why Dallas does it. But it is good to hear you explaining the discrepancies. You see things I don't see. Thanks
@ruthholbrookАй бұрын
They didn't necessarily miss out the 40 days in the wilderness - In John's Gospel, there's no account of John B baptising Jesus so when he points him out to Andrew etc it could easily be happening after the wilderness and he's telling a memory from before, when he was baptised.

Rabbi means teacher and a disciple is basically a student. I love too, how they relate scripture to modern life.

Maybe this is reading into it too much, but look at the number of this episode. What happened on the 4th day after the resurrection? Now contrast that to this episodes events. Numbers don't lie. Yep lol. To me, it's a kind of a sign/meaning of this show growing more and more. In a sense, approval from God. No, it's not a word by word depiction but look at its growth. I forgot which round-table it was, but financially the show was struggling hard. You know more of that than me. so yeah, just food for thought lol good video.

But Jesus didn’t actually call Andrew out to follow Him. A little confused about that.
@cathytalbert6548Ай бұрын
Given what you’ve said about Jesus calling them to follow Him & what that meant, does it really make sense that He would have called Nicodemus to follow Him? It never made sense to me & I’m not sure why. Maybe his age, idk. There were other believers in Him who did not set out on the road with Him as His followers/disciples.

I pay KZbin 15/month to avoid commercials. I wish you would not do your "subscribe" commercial in the middle of the scenes. Thanks
@SpongemomSweatpantsАй бұрын
It’s none of my business but I’ve been a subscriber of them since before the chosen when he was a pastor at a church and one day addressed his loyal followers (I’m not a paid member btw) that he was thinking about leaving his work and moving away and focusing full time on making content for KZbin and asked for prayer and advice. Long story long he made his decision and moved his family , depending on whatever he makes on KZbin would be his sole income source. So far they have been successful as far as I can tell but this is their bread and butter….its how they feed their family. My point is as a brother or sister in Christ we should not be critical but encouraging whenever possible. If you can afford to pay for KZbin premium then you can help support our brother and if not monetarily at least with your time, and maybe even pray for our brother to get more subscribers so that his channel will grow.
@jewelssylva3738Ай бұрын
Does he do a good job? He & his lady work hard preparing these videos. Researching & following the scriptures applicable, & editing. They are making a living, apparently he loves this job, but it is work. I don't have money to spend but I can live through his adds. I don't begrudge that. Frankly I'm glad that I found this channel.
@claudewilson2669Ай бұрын
How many viewers would I know the technical details that you espoused? Clearly, the film couldn't present all the details as written in Scripture. And when, because of your insider knowledge you can state that the fish were fake it spoils it for viewers who would have watched and seen it has real fish. Spoiler alerst
@donnabolinger2571Ай бұрын
There are some who grieve in a way that hurt, so they want to hurt back. You can't judge like you do until you have the same thing. Put yourself in the shoes people grieve differently, and you can't help. You can only do it at a distance. And wait until you can.

I saw a video once of Dallas Jenkins explaining the special effects behind the fish. He was talking about how difficult it was & then finally he &/or the special effects people had an idea (you could almost call it inspired) as to how to do it. And it looks very real.
