currently been doing this for the last month across europe. at the airport early, getting a lot of work done, and when i land in scotland... well i have earned myself to right to go and enjoy the rest of the day! it is hard finding the right balance. i have found myself working for an entire day and the next day completely off. sometimes it is split half and half that day. but the cool thing is i am getting to go out and about when i take a break in barcelona, roma, venezia, lisboa, edinburgh, paris, etc. instead of... bham, alabama 😂

Absolutely truth. You need to go to a home our hotel with good wifi. The challenge is more pertinent when you go to a underdeveloped country.

@coderbdev Good on you, man. I left Australia and I'm in the same boat. Why would we go back, not like they give us any reason to. If anything, just reasons to never return.

Don't know why but I don't like the word "Coding" specifically it feels mechanical and repetitive thing while the word "Programming" sounds more like a developers work. Any other thoughts?

Interesting, I just had a similar conversation with a friend. I was saying that the term "I.T." was way better than "tech" - I never say I work in tech because it makes one sound (IMHO) like a complete douchebag. I also never use the term coding because it reminds me of that film Hackers. My dad was a programmer in the 80s and 90s and I am carrying the mantel thanks to his excellent influence and guidance so I 100% on the same page as you - We're programmers doing programming. Get with the programme(rs).

Common topic. Fun thought experiment: How would you rank your various feelings towards Programmer, Coder, Developer, Engineer, and maybe Computer Scientist ?

Yep. For me, programming is solving problems using computers and coding is typing code into the computer.

I don't understand why people want to argue about the right terminology. Coding or programming, use whatever you prefer. Makes no difference to me. Coding is a repetitive task and a part of programming. Coding requires programmatic thinking etc. Pressing keys on a keyboard is probably closer to 'coding' in a strict sense. Coding is programmatic, but the end result is not always a program. Personally I prefer to say 'coding' over 'programming', because most of the time I'm just pounding keyboard and adding new lines.

I tend to feel the same about the term "coding". Especially when used in a sentence like "I'm coding an app". I feel like it implies that writing code is the sole activity of software construction, which it definitely isn't. But sometimes at work, I am truly JUST coding. Depends on the task, really.
