I have several Turkish guns and they have been outstanding!!!

In the USA we see Turkish guns mostly as being branded by other makers/importers. Mossberg, CZ, Weatherby, Winchester and others market Turkish guns under their name. About 5 years ago I bought a pair of Huglu 20 gauge guns which were being closed out. They were labeled as "Zenith Tedna" and had the model name "Excellence". It is a branded version of the Huglu 103. They are false sidelock style, so plenty of room for engraving and case coloring. I bought one each for my wife and I, hers in silver finish, mine is case colored finish. I got them for under $500 each. They have been excellent. Outstanding wood, fit finish and perfect function after 5 years weekly use for sporting clays. They are very slim in profile and the fit and finish is generally much better than what I see on Mossberg and CZ Turkish made O/U's. We live in Florida, so we shoot year 'round. Usually 100 targets/week. They have held up perfectly.

huğlu is one of the top brands in Turkey. Also hatsan, sarsılmaz, ata etc is really good.

I own two turkish shotguns. A Panzer arms AR 12 and a EAA Girsan mc312. I've had the Panzer AR 12 for 4 years and the Girsan mc312 I got it 2 weeks ago. They are like a Toyota Corolla. Inexpensive, well made and easy to maintain. I've put through around 2000 shells through the AR 12 and less than a dozen jams in total (mostly low brass). While the Girsan mc312 I've put 100 rds through to break it in with some medium brass birdshot and no jams whatsoever. The AR 12 I used it for feral pigs and rabbits while the Girsan mc312 will be my go to for pigeons, ducks and geese.

Here in the US all the Turkish guns I’ve seen were sold under well known name brands, Mossberg, CZ, Winchester etc. I’ve owned a Tristar viper g2 which was made by Armsan and within 6-7 months it developed a crack in the bolt. The bolt appears to be made up of several pieces welded. I sold it. The other was a CZ drake 20ga o/u which is made by Huglu. That one is excellent. So I guess it depends on which one you get, some are good and others not do much.

Huğlu is the best one from Turkey... How Yıldız can be in US market for almost 40 years ? The company founded in 1998. Huğlu is not a private company but workers cooperative... Their history started with WW1. Huğlu has the most talented gunsmiths.

I was almost about to buy another brand for my first shotgun because almost there is no good quality content in Turkish about Yıldız, so weird. ATA super sport with adjustable comb for under £800 simply cannot be topped. Far more suitable for a first timer and the added weight reduces recoil.

I have owned shotguns from ATA, Yildiz and Huglu. I find the Huglu the best of the bunch by a good margin. Better fit and finish, better triggers, and barrels regulated better. They tend to cost more here in the USA. Only the cheaper models are brought in by CZ. In Canada you can buy the nicer models they make. The ATA and Yildiz that come in and sold by the big brand stores are all bottom end guns. I wish CZ was not the sole importer of Huglu in the US as they make a LTE of very nice guns that CZ won't import.

I used to be skeptical with Turkish shotguns, but I'm now conquered, and I do like them they're good and reliable for the price ! I've got all types, semi-auto, pump, over-under of different brands ATA, Khan Arms, Hatsan, there's for sure a certain gun xenophobia against these amongst hunters and shooters

Adler is big in Australia with their straight pull and lever action shotguns, they are great for hunting and general shooting. Not a huge amount of over/under Turkish shotguns here but there is some nice synthetic stock Hatsuns I am keen on.

A few months ago I bought a Huglu Renova for $580 (19K Turkish Liras). We have been using German and French rifles in our family for generations, so I think I have a say in whether a rifle is good or not. In terms of price/performance, I can say with certainty that the Huglu Renova does a better job than some $900 rifles. If you are in doubt, go ahead and buy it. You will thank me.

I purchased a Yildiz HPS Legacy 20ga largely based on the strength of your information and videos. I love it so far; as many have commented it is stiff and needs oil in several places right out of the box, the barrel selector for instance. The quality of the wood on the stock is astonishing for a gun that retails for $650 at Academy in the US - substantially nicer than the wood on an Italian gun of a friend I shot with, which costs 4-5x as much. Overall it's an excellent value for the money to get ejectors, barrel selector, external chokes, manual safety, and mechanical triggers at that price. The trigger is a bit heavier than one might prefer but again, price point. Thanks very much for all the information you provide, it is helpful to shooters not just in the UK but also in the US. And to those who rib you about being sponsored by Yildiz, you make that quite clear in the intros to the videos and I take it as a point of credibility that you are transparent about it. Keep up the good work!!

Hy, in my country (Brasil) guns are extremely expensive and under several laws. For exemple: to buy a gun, we need to have an authorization from the army. And if it’s ok, a guns store is allowed sell me the gun. This process can take a year or more. And I can only get 600 ammo for each gun in my “inventory”. The price is almost unreachable: one Huglu HT14 cost about US$ 4.800. The Beretta DT 11 (if you find one) costs US$30.000. In my local store, is available 2 turkey shotgun: Yildiz MX Trap and Huglu HT14. Which one have better quality for trap shooting ? As you see, my English isn’t the best, sorry for that

I have had shotguns since I was 7 and have been shooting with shotguns since I was a child. I've shot different brands from all over the world; Italian, US American, German, English and French. I don't want to name the manufacturers here. Every shotgun and every manufacturer has advantages and disadvantages. There is almost no manufacturer who offers a complete package. I would like to mention here that I am a passionate trap shooter. Olympic Trap, Universal Trap and Double Trap. If you look at the very good trap shotguns on the market, it is usually the case that the price is just excessively high. Every shooter who has ever familiarized himself with the subject knows the phenomenon and asks himself: "Why on earth are these shotguns so expensive? They all look almost the same!". On one gun it's the wood, on the other it's the engraving, on the other it's the mechanism, one gun has this, the other gun has this... That's why I'm happy to write my opinion on here would like. I've owned the HT-14 for 2 years now and have shot over 50,000 times. The shotgun has not once had a fault. I have an 11mm wide frame with a red and fluorescent fiberglass front sight. My stock is grade 3 Turkish walnut. The barrels are made of 4140 steel and my receiver is black with the red HT-14 lettering. The receiver is diamond cut and I have automatic ejectors. I can use the selector to choose upper or lower barrel and my trigger doesn't have to wait for the recoil of the first shot to fire the second. The shotgun has the caliber 12/76 and steel shot proofing up to 1/2 choke. There are 5 chokes available: cylinder, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full. My flint has a total weight of 4100 grams. The weight can vary depending on the grade of wood. But the most important thing is my shaft. Every shotgun shoots but the stock hits. With my HT-14, the recoil pad, the drop and the cast are fully adjustable. This is an absolute highlight. If you look at the shaft prices from the well-known manufacturers, you'll be amazed. Incidentally, the shotgun was delivered in a beautiful and lockable gun case with the Huğlu emblem. The suitcase alone would cost quite a bit. Long story short. What I want to say; please look at the shotgun and just think... several thousand euros for a shotgun or the Huğlu HT-14 for the price? You can see the prices on the Huğlu Germany website. I give you my word that this shotgun is at least as good as very expensive shotguns and that sport with this shotgun is a lot of fun. Made in Türkiye is really good. Thank you Huğlu; for this beautiful and stable shotgun.

Think you probably should have done a like for like pricewise i.e. the black action Yildiz (£850) versus Adjustable ATA Supersport (£890) that also comes withthe extra internal/external chokes. I am of course a little biased as i have an Adjustable ATA Supersport but feel that the adjustable comb ATA included in the £890 price gave me more practical shooting value for the money over a hard case.

@@olivercodling8691 Hi m8, I've had mine just over 9 months, out about twice a month, 150-250 shots per outting, no problems so far, just abit stiff as it's still new but apart from that I love it. No plans to sell it as its my 1st brand new gun. Had an older Rizzini before and shooting better with ATA. Traded the Rizzini in against it so had very little to pay against the ATA. Currently looking at an ATA airgun to go along with my shotgun I've been that impressed with ATA. Hope this helps.

Not all the yield is come with the ABS box I just bought the HP Dynasty, Texas edition and it came in a cardboard box, but it did come with five jokes. It did come with the five-year warranty, outstanding wood, beautiful wood and the engraving is very deep and Gun overall looks beautiful.

When I got my ata we got a yildiz youth gun for my gf she’s 4ft 10 and it’s the only thing on the market that’s small enough for her to shoot got it in 20 bore but my ata seems to be better build quality the wood on her stock from new was so rough and dry we had to bee’s wax the hell out of it to let the grain soak the wax up

I read so much conflicting information about these Turkish brands “ Buy an ATA , buy a Yildiz , don’t buy a Turkish gun, “ etc etc etc . Here’s my dilemma, I want to shoot , I’m in the process of getting my license and when I get it I will shoot sporting clays on a Sunday morning a couple of times a month. I don’t have designs on trying to be a world champion, but over time I’d like my scores to look something like acceptable. I want a gun that I can “ grow into “ if that makes sense ? I don’t want to buy something and then sell it just because the shooting world believe that you really should own either a Browning or a Berreta. So here’s my dilemma, if an ATA , a Yildiz, a Browning and a Berreta were to all fit me , is the extra money spent on the Browning or Berreta actually worth spending given my shooting aspirations ? Right now im leaning towards a Browning 525 Sporter 1 , a Browning Laminated as I think that they look quite funky and different to everything else, or an MIrouku MK38 , but would I be better off spending half of the amount a Browning would cost me on a Yildiz / ATA and then put the difference towards a set of lessons from a good instructor ? I will purchase my gun new when I buy it as I like the concept of having a warranty. Help me out here please…

An ata or yildiz sporter will do what you want for casual clays and as a first gun decent choice, but in my experience being heavily involved in a clay ground most move on from those guns inside a year or so, and lose a decent hit of their investment, a 686/525/mk38 are better guns and by a very wide margin, don't let warranty sway you as the second hand market is full of gems, you can get into some serious guns for the price of a new ata

Please do a video on the Weatherby Orion sportster 12 gauge over under shotgun, you do absolutely amazing at describing shotguns and showing them off, the newer ones if i remember correctly are Turkish, and in my opinion look quite amazing for what you pay for them, but I would feel you would do amazing showing them off and describing them, and they are if I remember correctly styled off of the Berretta Silver Pigeon.

I recently visited my local RFD with the intent on purchasing a Yildiz Pro Sport and after handling one and a nearly new Browning 725 Sporter for about the same money i went for the Browning. It just felt better quality and suited me more than the Yildiz. I have to say the wood on the Yildiz blew the Browning out of the water but wood doesn't break clays. I wasn't keen on the extended chokes you get with the Yildiz being 1/2 and full, no good for ESP in my opinion, a much better option would have been 3/8 and 1/2. Anyway, i'm happy as i'm sure someone else will be with the Pro Sport.

Hi David, you seem to like Turkish guns. Any chance you could do a review or a video of the churchill 206 sporting made by akkar, in Turkey. I bought one for clay shooting and absolutely love it, great gun to shoot. Barely any recoil at all, doesn't matter what cartridges you use. I use Hull 7.5, 28 g or Mary arms 7.5, 28 g as well and I could shoot all day without any problems. My name is Gaetan, I leave in Ireland but originally French. I love watching your videos. I wanted originally a yildiz sporter but not many yildiz dealers here. So I ended up with this churchill 206, 32 " I replaced the extended chokes for flush ones and thinking of making the comb adjustable to make . Thank you.

You’re missing out armsan. Me and my mate were at the clays today with an armsan a612 semi auto and we we were smoking everything. 2 guys in front of us with 4 grand berettas and one guy with a browning laminate couldn’t hit a barn door. That tells me something 😂

My experience whit tyrkish shotgun was whit a khan k500 lux. Had problem whit barell selector , probably because of ruff finish. A friend of mine also heave same khan shotgun whit same problem. I dont trust the the quality of tyrkish guns

My Nephew got a new 12 gauge Stevens 555 and shot 700,000 to 800,000 shells in one season and it shoots great to this day. Has a Kick.

Depending on which brand, there are awful Turkish guns and some good . Also people have to look at resale value if they don't intend to hang on to them for any period of time. 👍👍

Thanks for your comment all guns will loos the same amount of money they will all loos about 25% to 30%of the price just like buying a car as the dealer needs to make money on the product, so Turkish guns will hold there value like any other gun. Thanks TSC Team.

I had both brands , none of them held up after a season of sporting clay shooting, had to sell them with great loss.

A lot of the Turkish guns are quite decent for the money, albeit unrefined in some aspects when compared to guns from other western countries. I would say that the Turkish gun industry is 20 years behind the US, but catching up gradually. I believe one of the reasons that they are able to put out decent guns is because the British transferred a lot of their machinery and technology to Turkey in the 2000s when gun making in the UK went into massive decline due to restrictive laws, cost of labour as well as a lack of interest from the younger generation.

😉There are more terrible-awful Turkish guns and few-some good Also the resale value is very low-bad... Not all guns lose the same amount of money... some guns will lose 20% to 35%... but all Turkish ones will lose upwards of 45% to 55 % ........ Sure it can be profitable for dealers to sell these poor quality guns ......but no thanks I'll take a Russian Baikal...or a bettonsoli as a cheap gun😎
