Btw. There are apps for android that are made for upskirting. They allow you to: 1. Make sure that the photos you delete arent actually deleted. So if you do get caught you can act like you deleted it. 2. Record upskirts without needing to have your camera on. What I mean by this is you can have other apps on the screen or even have the screen off and it will still record making you way less suspicious and with no sound!

I remember in my first week of being in London, I was wearing a summery skirt and as I stepped on a bus I felt a hand reach to lift my skirt and grab me and try to pull at my underwear. I turned round shocked and it was a guy leering at me. I shouted "STOP THAT!" loudly and looked round for support from the other passengers, but everyone looked the other way. I couldn't understand- maybe they thought he was my drunk boyfriend or something? I couldn't get off the bus cause the doors had just closed so I tried to find a space near people with my back against the wall, with the guy staring at me and trying constantly to push himself near me and run his hands over my legs and lift my skirt. I was worried that this guy would follow me off the bus, but when I tried to tell the driver he said "What do you want me to do, love?". So I just got off the bus, he got off after me and tried to grab me but I ran like hell. This was 5pm and what shocks me most is how everyone took this as normal. It kind of gave me a whole other image about London which disappointed and terrified me. Haven't worn a skirt since. I am so glad these women are fighting for what's just and I hope people won't be afraid to raise awareness of fucked-up perverts - or the bystanders who accept such acts as normality. The problem is with both- as well as with a general ignorance of these problems and unwillingness and fear to speak up (I have spoken to a lot of women who were afraid to name relatives and strangers who had raped them or even go to court because they feared the social stigma as well as the humiliation). But the more people do, the more someone will be forced to listen.

That's London for you. The culture there is everybody looks after themselves and if they see something happening to someone else they just ignore it because it's none of their business, they're late for work, don't want any trouble, etc etc. I'd like to say (and I'm pretty sure) that in most other places in the UK, if there had been lots of people around somebody would have done something. Sorry you had to go through that.

This whole topic is ridiculous. First, let's consider... um, the beach? Women walking around in essentially underwear. Oh, wait, it's a "bikini"? I see! Amazing how a bikini looks exactly like a bra and tanga thong! So yeah we better make beaches and bikinis illegal. Let's see what else... Ice Skaters! Oh no we must make it illegal for those leggy ice skaters to raise their leg so high they are flashing an upskirt! What else? Oh those girls who film and snap pictures of mens crotch bulges! Yes this has happened to me! Throw them all in prison! Perverts I tell you! Monsters!!! What else? ... Oh yes, those women who purposes flash men, this has also happened to me, good looking young girls flashing their panties at me, oh no this can't continue! What else? Those tipsy girls in the nightclub who pose for upskirt photos! Yes we must throw all these women in jail! Now, let's get real here... the ONLY women who complain about this petty meaningless harmless banter are UGLY women. There's no denying it. Si V I take it psychopathic is your word of the day and as you are making a direct accusation I am challenging you to provide proof of your medical training in the field of psychology. I guess you are reading a computer translation which has poorly translated it as my comment does not liken this to sexual assault but the way the video was portrayed, to me anyway did. Think again at the acceptability of you accusation, and when you manage to read my comment correctly you will see that I just think that it should be handled under a slightly different aspect of law, and to ensure that you fully understand, I find any aspect of sexual assault unacceptable. Most of which should be punishable by administering 10 grams of lead at supersonic speed to any convicted. Feel free to apologise at any time.
@Skydiver10004 жыл бұрын
Si V ignoring the social conventions of wearing clothes either to comply with law or accepted decency. It also covers parts of the body that the wearer does not want to show. So areas that have been chosen to be kept private. In a different context how about taking secret photos or video of a hotel guest inside the hotel room that they have purchased for their own use and privacy. It may not be a physical attack of any sort on the person but a full and complete invasion of their privacy. So upskirting should not be passed off as ‘don’t worry about it’ and we have made the other person delete the phone photos, (which have most probably already uploaded to a cloud server and can be recovered for 30 days). But a stiff enough penalty should be set to instantly discourage others from doing the same thing. It may not be the same gravity as any physical assault but it’s not taking a photo of the town buildings or landscape.

But I'm sure they notice what's happening. I've had soooo many guys tell me they have a friend who is creepy like that to girls, but they basically tolerate their friends behaviour, because they are friends. The "good guys" are well aware of what the "bad guys" are doing, and they are not helping. If boys or girls like someone, ask them out or compliment them in an appropriate way. Don’t upskirt them. If someone did that to me, they would walk away with a large shard of their phone in their hand, a black eye, and three broken ribs. The simple reason why these types of offences are on the rise is precisely because they are not punishable by law, so the "men" (and I use the term very loosely) who do this feel they can do it with impunity. They may hesitate before they grope someone, because they know they can get themselves in deep shit for doing it, but with upskirting they feel completely free, because they know they've got nothing against them. There needs to be law, at least with regards to children (because that kind of behaviour could be indicative of pedophilia); and more importantly, a law that will be actively enforced.
@cathrinehammer63426 жыл бұрын
Morganna Morganna I completely agree with the first part, though I do think it’s equally as important to protect women with a law as it is with children. Both should be protected from those pedos with a law that categorizes upskirting as a sexual offence

This reminds me of when a guy sat next to me on a full bus. At first he kept his legs almost pressed to mine and as I shuffled it further away he would lean in more. The more I moved my legs away, the more he would lean it towards me. Although I was annoyed with it, I didn't think it was THAT bad at the time. He did is so subtly that I was scared to speak up (so annoyed now). But what made the situation worse is that as we all got off the bus, he asked for my number. It was at that moment I realised how disgusting it was. I really do wish I told him off harshly. It may not be bad as upskirting, but it shows the subtle lengths people would go to.

I’m glad this is finally coming to light. These kind of assaults has happened to me , so many times that I can’t count, even from school days. The worst is the most recent and that was on my way back to the UK in Berlin on a bus to the airport. I was facing the window standing up and He rubbed his private parts on my bum as he stood behind me on this packed bus. It took a second to register what it was as I’d frozen in shock but what felt like seconds later I turned around, I watched him jump off the bus so it was too late. It’s actually scarred me more than I realised and I’m reminded of it every so often when I’m in busy spaces or on a bus/train. If you ever see someone getting too close and it FEELS like it COULD be WRONG, say something! It might be that the person knows them, but WHAT IF IT ISNT! What if the person has frozen, like I did, and you’re their only hope in doing something *QUICKLY* about it

“Can I give you a hug” Am I the only one who points out what a nice person she is for doing that? Sometimes if you’re upset or in a shit mood or having a bad day, a hug can instantly erase such shitty feelings. I respect her for knowing how to make people feel happier. It’s the little things in life that mean so much.
