In this day and age where media consumption is rapidly changing, its mind boggling why camera companies have not fully came up with a way to use your camera as a high quality webcam or even vlogging. I have always loved fuji and its a bummer that i have to go with a different manufacturer like Sony to get the best for video etc

I am dead set on buying the Fujifilm xs20 as my 1st ever camera but the autofocus is something that confusing me too much (compared to a6700). Can you please tell, does that matter that much for a beginner like me? I would be doing personal, college, travel, family photography and in future some small level personal filmmaking too.

@@Akagami753 That's a great question! So, I've used the latest Sony cameras as well as the X-S20, and I can tell you, yes. The Sony cameras do technically have better auto-focus. BUT, the auto-focus on the X-S20 is TOTALLY fine. I didn't have any problems with it when recording videos or taking photos. You won't be disappointed by it.

I'm currently using the x100v and it has been a hassle to get this thing to work as a webcam, ive tried setting the drive to still image, that didnt work, ive tried setting it to s, that didnt work, ive tried using every single setting shown on every yt video about the camera, its gotten to the point that i've given up for the day

Hei, great info, but I have another huge issue with my X-T5 via USB-C / Webcam mode on my M3 MacBook Pro: the quality is still quite shitty :D I run it down to this issues: the bitrate when using the webcam mode goes down to something around 10mbit/s , so basically around 20x under the usual 4k bitrate. and it always falls back to FHD ... when I manually change to 4k, the image on the MacBook screen just freezes instantly, until I either manually switch back to FHD or wait some time and then the camera changes back automatically to FHD and starts working again. Do you know about any fix for this? I tried with different cables, APPLE and the FUJI one included with the camera. I'm really getting tired of how badly this camera is usable remotely. Connection to computers is a hassle, the remote app on mobile devices is horrormovie slow and lagging,.... how hard can this be in 2024?

I use a XT3 for my live stream with a Cam Link and a dummy battery running 4k for hours at a time using Ecamm Live with no issues. I think your options were limited

Hey man I've been looking for an answer like this to the issue. So there's no over heating issues or errors popping our after a few hours? I've read that using a dummy battery can break or cause issues to the camera/its charging abilities. Have you had any trouble using the cam when you've inserted a regular battery and used it outside streaming? If there's no issues at all, I might have to consider this dummy battery thing. Just read a lot of horror stories about it. Thanks!

@@kajismusic I haven't used my regular batteries in a long time, i had to charge them before i answered the question. I turned it on with no issues, and let it run for about 15 minutes with no issues.

Gran video! gracias por ello, Tengo la Xs-10 y lo he usado como Webcam con la app de Fujifilm Web Cam 2 pero he notado que hay latencia y por supuesto no llega ni a 720p, quiero sacar toda la calidad a la cámara al momento de conectarla a mi pc ya que ahí grabo vídeos y genero contenido para mis clases, ¿para eso la única opción sería utilizar capturadora externa como Elgato Camlink? si es positiva la respuesta, podría obtener calidad de 4k en la X-s10? agradezco tu respuesta, he estado cuestionándome ultimamente si vale la pena abandonar la app de Fujifilm Web Cam en cuanto a calidad... quedo atento gracias

yep, app is not required BUT the camera shuts off from overheating after 30 minutes or so

How did you get a camera like the X-S20 to record you with out popping audio or delayed video audio when having video, I usually have to add about a 50ms delay. My experience as a webcam has been complete crap and it kept changing out of my 4K 30fps to 1080P 60fps when connected to PC. I tried recording myself with both OSB and Teams and both were garbage level.

@@TheSpareTechRoom that'd be cool. Do you have the same issues as me where every time you connect USB webcam it first changes to 1080P and it has to be switched to 4K? If there is a fix for the ridiculous camera behavior please include it in the video.

@@sparketech I've definitely had some issues, depending on what USB cable I'm using. You may want to make sure you're using one that is rated for a high enough speed.

I'm using the Fuji X-H1 and after connect it through Fuji X Webcam 2 and through OBS, the video is super laggy :/ any solution for this? Or do I need to buy a dedicated video card

I use the X-T2 with the 18-55 via the Elgato camlink with dummy battery and hdmi, and it is way better than any Fuji X webcam product. You can find alternatives but I spend the extra since im heavily use Elgato. Needless to say Fujifilm just needs to make the cameras and let other companies do streaming products.

Still with the same issue? I found out that in my case (xpro3) the lag issue happens when the screen of the camera is off/closed which activates the viewfinder; which if you are not looking closely enough the viewfinder lags. It happens without the computer, if you look through the viewfinder (electronic viewfinder) but take a bit of distance the image starts to lag, it corrects itself once you come close with your eye. It looks to me that what the webcam/usb connection does, is to duplicate the electronic view of your camera, if it is lagging in the camera (as the situation I mentioneda above) it will lag on the computer as well. Tell me if you understood what I said haha

no it isn't, you HAVE to use the camera webcam mode. Set your usb mode to webcam mode on the camera and it will show up on your computer. Big downside is you don't get settings to change on your computer like you did with the fuji webcam app though :/

I’m using my Fujifilm XH2s for twitch streaming too with a dummy battery. Can someone help me? I’m so scarred that the cam can gets damaged on long used like this. Can you stream 12hours like this a day without a problem for the cam? Especially when it’s on flog settings?

Hi there! Of course, I can’t officially say you’ll never have a problem. Tech can always bug out randomly. But, I will say I’ve never had a problem streaming or recording for long periods of time. If the camera can’t handle it, you’ll generally get an overheat warning, and it’ll shut itself down. I personally wouldn’t worry about it. I hope that helps. 😊

Heat would be the issue and I personally haven’t noticed the camera getting hot after hours of filming. Im doing the same with a dummy battery and the X-h1

You’ll want to make sure you have the app and whatever video program you’re on want to use open at the same time. Then, go into the video settings and select the app as the source. I hope that makes sense.

sorry to not agree, but i work with the 10 Dollar Capture Card since years and it works perfekt. You never stream in 4K - the software sucks completely.

A lot of people do prefer streaming in 1080p, but it’s also nice to be able to record directly to your computer in full quality 4k. I do that all the time, so I don’t have to record to a separate memory card and copy the files over. It streamlines the whole process.

First: You are talking WINDOWS world, exclusively. This is important, because MAC OS is still so dumb, that it does not recognize a USB Fuji Cam!! This is why I came here. Second: I used a X-H2s as a webcam over half a year daily w/o any issue via USB, plug and play. WIN 10. No issue at all. Cam setting must be st to video! Otherwise Fuji will go into sleep! Whatever you to inside the menue! So you cannot use a C1-7 ModeA/S/M/P!!! Besides that runtime is NO issue at all. My docking is also DP and it ran to hours. Afaik 4. As you will always make a break within a 2h plus session I see NO issue on runtime on X-H2´s. I own 2 bat. and a charger and I had easily 4-5h Webcam use a day. But: Not possible on a Mac.

ok so since you got it working, I keep getting footage that looks like log2, Some of my custom modes are set to flog2, but I set the one I use for webcam to be provia, but my footage inside my computer still looks super washed out. Any tips?

@@BardiaIsOnKZbin I only got the X-H2s running in Teams in Video Mode. NO Custom mode, otherwise the Cam shuts off after 5 Min (or 10?). This was on 5.0 Firmware. The Fuji Monitor looks "colorless", I think I know what you mean. I set it to HLG - so kind of "xtreme". This is ok for me, as it is just teams. I have not gotten deeper into that. New FW is 6.01. I haven´t tested Teams since 2 months though.

I'm getting the xt30 next week most likely and the x webcam software was my biggest deterrent... But that second option seems perfect. Just connect the mini HDMI to the PC you said? with what cable? Also I'm afraid the xt30 will overheat as so many others complained, hope the dummy battery will help with that.

To use the HDMI connection, you would also just need a 4k capture card. You can get a budget one on Amazon for about $30, or something like the Elgato Camlink for about $90. The camlink is gonna give you the best video quality, but a lot of people are fine with a more budget option. 😊
