I won't lie, it's been about 2 years since I've viewed your content. NOW, I understand this. This may be the best hip engagement content I've seen as it turns out. Time to hit the field. Much appreciated!

thank you for pointing me to this video, it answered my question I had in your other video, I wish I had these videos about 17 years ago when I first started playing, but hey better late then never.

Great videos! Very helpful for an entry level DG'er like myself. I just wish these videos were numbered so I knew in which order I should study them in. What comes first, the Brace video?, this video?, the Power Pocket one? etc. I guess the 'Robot Bsck Hand' one. It's all a little unclear to me. Still though, very good videos I'd probably recommend to friends.

Consider showing your motions so they are easy to copy watching this video , at 7:10 its easier to copy for a right hander and feel the right motion. More from a right hander standpoint (left hander will have the video just right). Flipping the video image helps so if I look in the mirror at myself and look at the video at the same time , the motions are aligned. If not flipped its very difficult to copy for a right hander at least. I saved the video and flipped it in a video editor. Again all good for a left hander.

One thing I may add is that weight shift is linear. If your hips are loaded, and your weight shifts forward, they will naturally turn. I completely agree about everything coming through together though. Nice video!

Hey David, I am part of the Seekr course...just started. Question...I notice a ton of people "leaning" over their feet in an athletic stance. Every time I try it I end up throwing massive hyzer... So the only way I can seem to throw flat is to stand straight up...which is very robotic, not smooth, and feel like I am leaving some distance behind. How do you lean over like that and throw flat....do you shape anhyzer with your wrist? Thanks!
@seekrdiscgolf2 жыл бұрын
Day 40 will answer this for you in the app :) But keep standing up straight. That will help you throw flat. Don't worry about distance, worry about accuracy.

Look at Ezra latest slow motion video and you can see that toe/heel and weight shift is what starts the hip rotation which then starts the actual throw (or body spin).

It’s a combination of the leg and the off arm. Just like I mention in the video ✌🏽😎

@@seekrdiscgolf I'd say off arm can also be tucked close into side of body and doesn't have a such a hyped amount of distance unless you already able to throw +130 meters. Weight shift I'd say is way more important alongside good timing than focusing on what the off arm is doing. Besides learning off arm properly is not an easy task to accomplish for most of us deadly

Hello David, I recently turned 60, I love playing disc golf I’ve been playing for about 1 1/2 but I struggle with rotating on my heel and I actually hurt me knee a little by throwing without rotating on my heel. It’s not 100% but I am still playing. Is there any pointers that you could give me to help me fix this problem? I would love to continue to play as long as I’m able. Thanks, John

How have i lot seen this channel? Been playing everyday for 2 weeks, and i am so god damn frustrated with every youtuber because they never go into detail like this. I try what they say, but i have a thousand questions when i am in the field. How should it feel, shold i whip the arm or pull it towards my chest, or something in between, my right sholder should it sort of pop outwars a bit, should it them pop back or stay there, my elbow, how should that feel exactly? And on short controlled throws, do anything change?? what exactly should it FEEL like.. i have a different technique everyday and they all work sort of. It seems no matter what i do, i can backhand 300 feet, standing still, using mainly my arms and snapping, using a run up, it all goes alright far, but my feelings in the swing change everyday and i get more confused the more i throw.. i need DETAILS like in this video!

Find a local pro and hit them up for a lesson. 😎👍 Lots of touring pros will offer clinics when they're in town or just hit them up on their socials, most will do a vid chat and form review.

Takin me 20 years to get a good golf swing irons / woods so good luck everybody. Just like when you swing your golf club don't look out into the distance keep your eye on the ball Don't worry about where the ball goes keep your eye on the f****** ball
@andreasericsson69892 жыл бұрын
Terrible explanation. The hips start to rotate when you set your front foot down. That has to happen before you start rotating your torso, or you're landing the angular momentum into your knee, which will eventually break from pressure + rotation.

Thanks for your opinion. My data comes from deep research and pro interviews. So it’s okay if we disagree. 😊 thanks Andreas!

You are shifting incorrectly. If you look at any professional throwing a standstill, their rear heel moves towards the target and then the ball of the foot follows. You are "squishing the bug" which instead causes the heel to spin away from the target, which you can see in your motion. You should be able to put a red solo cup on the outside of your rear heel and never knock it over. This is true even in ball golf. Look into "everting the foot golf" and you can look into it more.

I second this. You're essentially trying to spin the hips from your back foot, instead of shifting laterally onto the front leg. Once your weight is on the front your front leg extends and opens up the hips.
