Very detailed reporting and I've watched a lot of videos and documentaries about Putin's time in the KGB. I'm impressed that you mentioned the Cheka as this was the root and foundation of the KGB. What wasn't mentioned is that Putin really loved spy movies and wanted to desperately become a spy. At the time KGB agents were more known to be a cushioned job for the rich kids. A stable job with no real work to show it was difficult to get fired. I think Putin took his role too seriously even in Dresden which was the middle of nowhere. He would harass Soviet citizens and possibly extract bribes or black mail information but I heard he never did espionage or counter surveillance. We like to give him a lot of credit for being a "spy" but I believe he never actually became a spy he was more of a political desk position with the occasional harassment.

It would make sense that the KGB would want to have ties to the Red Army Faction. The group was essentially Marxist in their beliefs, whether or not they were the same orthodoxy of the Soviets is another matter. As they were a terrorist group based in West Germany they could be used as an intelligence asset. The East Germans liked to downplay the group, but they did receive backing from the Stasi despite certain members not being impressed by them, namely Wolf of the Stasi foreign bureau. After a while the RAF became little more than auxiliaries for other terrorist groups, namely the Palestinians (the PFLP which is Marxist based). With the reunification of Germany they eventually disbanded or what was left of them.

My youngest son was born on his birthday. 10/7 Libras are genuinely good people. But this war bit has me concerned. I think we need to give him a peaceful transition out some how. But we now are still in crises and our economy & financials are flayling & taking on water after this earth population has endured so much madness with Covid& the loss of so much& now this, sheesh. Gas prices are going to further effect us, truckers walked out and standing up for freedoms another hardship on the economy & so much wieght that it's going to break! Dams going to Break!
