Hi dear. People misunderstand the use of WD40 for toilets. It doesn’t clean. What it does is prevent fecal skid marks forming in the toilet bowl ... the bowl remains slippery so no brushing needed if used at least once weekly. I don’t know how people ended up making it about cleaning when it’s really about preventing dirt attaching.

Here is a tip: take that toilet brush and using medium force, shove it in the exit hole about 15 times very quickly. This will reduce the water level. Then, WHATEVER METHOD you choose to clean that water line, the cleaner can sit on the stain with out being diluted by water. Every bit helps!

LOL... scrub a lot of nuts and butts !!! BTW, nice wedding ring!! Someone's got good taste!!😀 Just a quick comment about the hard water. If you notice that you are getting a lot of hard water build up, you might want to test your water (after the water softener) to verify just how effective you system is working. Depending on the age of you softener system, there are some regular cleaning and maybe replacement of parts that need to be done (small screens meant to filter can get clogged and there are seals, and valves that can get worn). If your system has a float in it to sense the water level, that could be sticking or there could be a salt "bridge" in your salt tank as well. There are quite a few things that can slow down or bring to stop the softening process (check for salt bridges to!). Also, if it hadn't been done at first, or you're not sure, have your hard water tested to get the exact hardness AND IRON content in your water. This will determine critical settings for your water softener to be sure that your getting the optimal results. You can usually just take a small vile of water (BEFORE THE WATER SOFTENER OF COURSE) to your local Culligan or other similar store/dealer and they'll usually test it for free - get the results in a day or 2. And REMEMBER - you'll never really have PURE SOFT WATER - that's not really the goal of water softening. So even with soft water, such as yours, you still get your build up over time. And if you're unsure about the setup of the system, or even if it's sized correctly for your household size and water usage - then it's best to get a professional in to help. There's a steep learning curve to this whole softening process you can avoid by leaving it to the pros ! Ok, hope that gives some more insight. Thanks !

That gross is the WD40 cleaning what the bicarbonate/vinegar can’t clean cos they’re too weak.

Clean it 1st then spraying the wd40 keeps the nasty stuff from sticking so it prevents having such a horrible cleaning job !

Here is the winning strategy for cleaning any toilet no matter how bad it is. Use a pumice stone for anything above the water level, then pour in some muriatic acid and wait about an hour then flush. The toilet will be like brand new.

How much acid do you pour in? Additionally that stuff makes some serious toxic fumes. I would have to imagine you ventilate the room really well to avoid getting overcome by the fumes.

@@starwarswannabes285 I poured in maybe a cup and just let it sit. Came back and all of that mineral deposit was just gone.

@@CasiodorusRex what about the fumes?

@@starwarswannabes285 It's not overwhelming because the acid is diluted in the water. I swear that it works.
@starwarswannabes285 Жыл бұрын
@@CasiodorusRex Ok I may try that. I just know when I use it around my pool that stuff makes a acid smoke cloud and I have to make sure I am upwind from it, but maybe in a toilet there is enough water to prevent that. I did watch another video where a lady flushed her toilet to get the sides wet, then threw powdered laundry detergent on the sides and waited 15 minutes, then just used a toilet brush on it and it came right off. I may try that first and if it is too much work I will try the muratic acid. Of course the acid will only clean at or below the water line.

The basic ingredient is Mineral spirits. Don't use if you have a septic system.

None of these products should be used with septic. If they are YOU take the risk and expense, which could be very expensive later on.
