My wife is a devout muslim, wears the hijab. She's also Sr. VP of an investment bank (in a muslim country, not in NY or LA). Investment banks are, as we know, notoriously male dominated , even in the west (or shall I say especially in the west 😁) So, my wife is oppressed in a country where islam is the official religion ? 🙂. Truth be told, not many ladies in the west can reach the heights she has,despite western liberalism and 'freedoms'. Food for thought.

We are not oppressed In the contrary I am disabled i have a really beautiful and lovely family I wear hijab since i was 16 ... i want that before but mom told me to wait till i grow up because she wasn'tpracticing at that time But when i reached 16 i becamemore religious and they see how better i became she wear it and and then my sister and my hole family started to be more islamic We turned into a really beautiful family alhamdulillah I can say from the families that i know ... the worst men wom i see is not that oppressive because they respect their wives they are loyal and they provide them...

This is something I will comment about. I've been Muslim for decades and studied the Quran. The word 'hijab' in the Quran is never mentioned as it relates to a woman's dress. However, in many faiths, you see women who dress modestly and wear lovely hats. My grandmother was a devout Christian and always wore her Sunday dress and Sunday hat. There are many videos about this but I will recommend Lesley Hazelton who calls her self an agnostic Jew. You can find her video on TED Talks
